I was reading the posts under First vs. Third and someone posted that Quest labs don't use third generation tests. I tested at my doctors office and requested a copy of the result. The lab that performed the test is called Bio-Refrence and their number is 1-800 229 Labs. To those that are in the NY/NJ area you can contact the lab directly (201) 791 3600. They use a 3rd generation EIA (HIV 1/2 ab EIA) and when I called the lab directly to confirm they told me that they use a 3rd generation test and 8 weeks is considered conclusive by their standards. I don't know if they offer home testing but I'm sure they can give you a name of the doctor who uses their lab in your area.
