genital herpes pain
      #36793 - 07/05/02 04:04 PM

hi,
if anyone - male or female - has genital herpies2 can you tell me if you have ever had any of these symptoms ....
a lower spine (tail bone) pain? i got h2 3 months ago (along with my hiv scare - which is NEGATIVE)and i have chosen not to take valtrax. i did at first but i got naeous from it and beside, i still had out breaks so i figured how worse can i feel. well ... i still feel the same way - even without the pills - i do not have an out break (sores) but i have a pounding throbbing lower pain or numbiness at the tip of my tail bone. i know the virus lives in the gangial of the spine but is what i am feeling the virus brewing there? i get sensations of heat and tingleling in my anus and labia as if the virus is there but no visible sores. can anyone relate their herpes2 symptoms to me and how it progressed and how ofter you have outbreaks? i know of a great site - racoon.com - that i go to but i thought maybe someone here had what to add. thanks - chichi

Hi ChiChi, sorry to read about your predicament, it must be a very distressing time for you! I've never had herpes but from what I've read, in the majority of cases, the out-breaks become progressively less frequent over time and can stop altogether. Has your doctor advised you on medication you can take to control or suppress out-breaks?

Take Care!

Regards
EMS

hi e-m-s,
i was on valtrax for the inital breakout and i took it for 3 months but i still had the symptoms and outbreaks so ... the meds did not work so i stoped them. i dont know what to do. the dr said all she can perscribe are the meds and yes over time (like, years) things do slow down). so this is how i walk around - in pain - sometime its ok and sometimes its awful.
