Painful lymph nodes

I have been having pain in my lymph nodes(neck, armpit, groin and behind the knee) for over two weeks. No swelling at all according to my two family doctors. I had a full blood count test and everything was normal. I did not do an HIV test then since my 6 months test was negative and it was 3 weeks prior to that. I am also experiencing pain in the joints that i developed about three months ago and it is not going.

Do lymph nodes become painful without any swelling? the pain in the nodes came after my 6 months result. Should I be testing again? Can anyone tell me where i can find info about Lymph nodes on the net. I really really appreciate any feedback.
