Sea Men
      #35540 - 06/11/02 05:09 PM

Is it true that hiv can be transmitted by sea men? I keep hearing about how hiv is in sea men, but I can't figure out why. I mean they must know what they're talking about because they probably see hiv in sea men when they do medical tests. Why sea men? How does the hiv get into sea men in the first place? I guess its not safe to come in contact with sea men.

I don't know why semen is considered more dangerous than salivia which is also a bodily fluid. Semen is just mucus and reproductive cells and is very similar to salivia. Good question!

somthing in saliva kills the virus. If it didnt everyone would be infected

Seamen is much more dangerous than salava because seamen is a by-product of blood. That is what I have read anyway.

How can semen be a product of blood when it just used to get the sperm to the ovum. This does not make sense I'm so confused? I was told be mt doctor that no other virus is tarnsmitted in semen and that stds are not even in semen.
