I got a call from my OBGYN and told me my pap mear showed some inflammation and to do it again at 3 months . Now I'm getting scared I was doing fine. Now I really feel my 3 month test on June 4th is going to come out positive. I slept with the HIV+ guy (yes I used protection from beginning to end) but I feel maybe it leaked at the base and that's why I have that pap smear I'm really nervous.....I need advice

An abnormal pap smear has nothing to do with HIV status. People get those all the time. HPV can cause abnormal pap smears. Don't worry, they have tons of procedures to correct anything that might be going on. You don't have HIV. Cervical inflamation in common, I've had it before and it turned out to be nothing. Don't worry

A few years I had an abnormal pap smear and freaked out. Right away I thought cancer, my doctor didn't take the time to explain to me the many reasons why a pap smear can come back abnormal. I was 17 and as naive as one can possibly get. I didn't know that before seeing a GYN douching is not recommended. That was exactly what i had done before seeing him. Had another pap smear done 2 months later and it came back normal. My sister in law found out she had cervical cancer at 29 because she had an abnormal pap smear. Her doctor didn't tell her to wait a few months before having a follow up exam. Right away he told her to see a specailst where as mine told me to come back in a few months and no further explaination. If they see something wrong they will right away refer you to someone else.
