Does anyone know a way to order an RNA test other than having a doctor order it? I know ehivtest.com does the DNA but I wondered if there were labs that would order that for you without a doctors consent? Anybody with experience?
Thanks

I had tested done through ehiv. I had an Elisa and PCR combo. There is no doctor that has to order it and the result come back pretty fast. I don't know of anyone that does the RNA but I think that DNA is just as good! Hope I helped

Yeah, I did the DNA exam but I am many years (9+) past exposure and was worried that it would not pick up anything due to comprised immune system. I know that the RNA increases throughout infection and would most definetly be positive this far past infection. Any ideas?
Thanks

You shouldn't use RNA as a diagnostic tool. However if you insist in this insanity just walk into a private lab and order a viral load.

What do mean just walk into a private lab? How would I find this, in the yellow pages? Would they just say, "Come right in and sit down". I would think they would want something from the doctors.

Look, i don't really know how things are where you live. Here in italy (which, even if we have got the worst of all nightmares: mr. berlusconi, isn't yet regressed to a 3rd world country) you can crack open the yellow pages, look for analysis labs, walk in and tell'em which tests you want to run. You pay and that's all.
