thanks w02, and good point anon about the fever. i wish i could use that to exclude my worries. i just can't remember what it feels like to be feverish. i haven't had one in the past few weeks but, did not check it when i was having the neck and head pain which i contribute to acute asceptic meningitis which is present in up to 24% in this one study. i guess if i would have had fever i would have known it. i dunno?

thanks w02, i guess you are right. i just still can't believe i don't have it. like i said, my papillae on my tongue are swollen and of course when i put that into google, what do you know, i get some dental website that says it can be an indicator of early hiv infection! google rocks but, it seems like any ailment you put in, it gives links to thebody.com from so many people posting questions. i think that compounds peoples fears if you know what i'm saying. again, congrats on your previous test result and thanks for hanging around.

I agree, here you can find everything because people continue to relate every symptom to HIV.

Swollen papillae could be due to: scarlet fever, too much smoke, too much alcohol, allergy to dentures, biting your own tongue, thrusting the tongue etc. oral Hairy Leukoplakia usually presents as a flat (not hairy) corrugated lesion on the sides of the tongue, severe cases turn later into that fuzzy hairy appearance you could have seen on hivdent.org, i think having a few swollen papillae doesn't mean anything. However next week i'm off to the dentist to find out, my advice: do the same. hope this helps
