HIV 1/2 tests

the guy i was with was from England (i am in the US and he had just moved here). do you think the DNA PCR was a sufficient additional test if the ELISAs in the US test only for HIV-1? what else other test would i get done?

These are FDA approved HIV antibody tests for both type 1 and 2, i don't know if they are approved only for the screening of blood supply:
