Spleen is usualy enlarged in infected people or at least newly infected people. But how do you know that your spleen is enlarged - you can't know that unless your doctor confirms it.
For weeks I was thinking my spleen was enlarged, I felt it and I was 100% sure it was - every time I went to doctor (I was visiting doctors than at least 2 times per week) every time they told me that my spleen is fine and it's not enlarged.

People that are negative and postive can have an enlarged spleen. While it is part of the immune system it being enlarged doesn't mean it has anything to do with HIV. It certainly is not indicitive of early, middle or late infection.
Dr. Holodniy says an enlarged spleen is 'a very non-specific finding'.
