Is anyone familiar with common skin problems in positive people? Fungus infections, etc.? What kind of skin disorders might be expected or are considered common? Are there any that might be considered "classic" symptoms? Thanks for any info. you might have.

The most common are Candidiasis (thrush) and Kaposi's sarcoma. I don't really know if both can be classified as skin problems. Thrush can appear independently from HIV status, KS is a very rare kind of tumor in HIV-negative individuals. I will not talk about the aspect of KS here, as it should be diagnosed by a competent phisician. Obviously we are talking about advanced AIDS status, this stuff doesn't happen a few hours, days or months after your possible exposure (except maybe thrush). If you have skin problems consult a dermatologist, he will be able to tell you what they are. If you're concerned about your hiv status get tested. An antibody test taken 3 or more months after your last possible exposure to the virus is considered accurate. Hope this helps.
