I just want to know, how good are the currently available treatments, and what are the prospects for newly infected persons? The new drugs, anounced at the Retroconference, when do you think they will be available, and what effect are they going to have on the prospects for an average person. From what I heard AIDS deaths are rapidly declining in many countries including the US, and mortality is falling to around 1%. Is this really so? Can the newly infected individuals, if they are religiously adherent to their treatment schedules, hope to live another 10-20 years, being optimistic? And, here's a question for Magnus and others, do you believe that within the next decade we shall see the advance of at least one or two therapeutic vaccines? Please tell me what you think about this!

Dear Paul, Why are you thinking about tratment now, First of all go and get tested you are thinking to much now. But today we have good tratments and many person have lived 10 years without medications. Some person that have been infected with HIV have been infected with resistent virus so their you have more limeted options for treatment but they exists. Some people with HIV and eating medecines doesn´t take care of the medication, they don´t take medecine at the right time so the virus can mutate itself and be resistent to the drug. If such a person infects another person with HIV the new person will also have the virus that are resistent against the medications But diffrent treatments exists but it is very important to take the medecine in the right time so that the virus doesn´t mutate itself and will be resistent aginst some medication. New drugs are on its way. But you will not need medications right away as long as the virusamount are under 50 viruscopies per ml blood your body doesn´t need drugs and as i mentioned before some people doesn´t need medications for 10 years and 5% of all infected doesn´t need medication for 15-20 years(Long term non progressors) Before you start thinking of treatment go and get tested.

The only treatment you will need is a BIG steak and a beer to celebrate your NEG status.
Do you have ANY idea that she was +?

No, but she could be. I don't know her status. The reason why I'm worried is that I got all those symptoms listed in the post below. AND IT'S WEIRD, AND PAINFUL!!
