red skin on hands
      #28461 - 02/17/02 04:36 PM

After about 1 month after the possible (but unlikely) exposure I have observed a number of transient red areas at the back of my hands. They have irregular shapes, different sizes, and look like pressure marks. They are slightly redder than the rest of the skin. They disappear within a few minutes to a few hours and are only visible when bright halogen light is present. I don't remember exerting any pressure to these areas. My thrombocyte count is 284 x10^9 /L (136-343), i.e. normal. Is this a sign of HIV infection or anything HIV-related? Could there be other serious conditions, e.g. malignancies that are causing this?
