Sore Throat And Colds Have Nothing To Do With HIV!

The doctor says that neither the frequency of, nor susceptibility to common colds (including sore throat symptoms) is different in HIV+ people. Apart from 1-2 weeks during ASR, sore throat can have nothing to do with HIV, because it is controlled by a totally different part of the immune system, unaffected by the virus. I am writing this to calm myself down, but also to help the other people with HIV obsession, wondering about their chronic pharyngitis.
BTW, pharyngitis IS a sore throat! It's not a kind of a sore throat, or whatever, it is SIMPLY A SORE THROAT. Pharyngitis stands for the inflammation of the pharynx (latin for throat), irrespective of the cause, severity, etc. Tonsillitis - inflammation of the tonsils, whatever the cause. Apart from ARS, it doesn't seem that they have anything to do with HIV...
I have made some progress. My tremors and twitching have reduced significantly and I don't post as often as I used to. :)

Paul do you or anyone else have any information as to wheather phlem and thick mucus on the very back of the throat is associated with the sore throat that is common with ARSlso is it more likely or not to have a fever with the sore throat

From statistical point of view, fever is a much more common symptom of ARS (96% of people with ARS get it). Normal sore throat is often associated with fever, or you may have something like chronic pharyngitis, in which case it is not... I am not sure about the features that you describe. It's probably something more like a cold...
