red, pink, brown or purplish blotches
      #28104 - 02/10/02 07:20 PM

The following is said to be a symptom of ARS:

red, pink, brown or purplish blotches on and/or under the skin

http://www.13kg.com/facts/hiv_aids_common_symptoms.htm

That's rather scary. Does anybody know what these look like and what causes them?

Please respond.

I have had the same question. Mine appeared as little brown moles and then purple spots and dissapeared. I went to an infectious disease specialist who said that these were nothing.

My research however indicates that Thrombocytopeni can cause both petechia and Pupura which are spots on skin. This can occurr as the body produces antibodies.

I tetsed negative at 8 months.

Hope that helps.
