Things on back of tongue?
      #27800 - 02/05/02 06:42 PM

Hi, I was wondering does anyone know what the things are at the back of your tongue(it's several pink round looking things I don't know what they're called. Mine have been enlarged since I been concerned about possible hiv infection. My doctor said it looked like some sort of viral infection. But I have tested negative several times through the ELA(antibody test) way past the 6 month period. Any answers would be appreciated. Also does anyone know if the western blot test is done all the time after a ELA(antibody test) or only when the ELA(antibody test) comes up positive? Thank you and GOD Bless. Please be careful and abstain and if you can't please protect yourselves at ALL times.

The bumps on the back of the tongue are normal, (Check out the oral section of the bodies experts questions section)
As far as I understand the WB is done only if the Elisa is +. It is used to confirm.

Good luck,
