Fingered while in threesome
      #273368 - 08/10/13 09:24 AM

I am really worried and would love if an expert here can answer me. I had sex two days ago with 2 other guys (a threesome). One guy fingered the other guy and then fingered me. what is the risk of HIV infection in this case.

I want to mention that he did it 2-3 times (meaning fingering the guy and then me, then the guy then me again). We also had anal sex (he penetrated with condom of curse) but it was for a short time because he couldn't keep it's hard on... so he fingered me again (after the penetration which I guess makes the anus more sensitive for HIV infliction doesn't it?).

Please let me know how worried I should be...

You are putting yourself at risk. There is always the possibility of anal irritation and bleeding. And since you did it multiply times you have put yourself at risk multiply times. I'ts risky enough when you don't know one persons status but to add another with minimum precaution is just plain stupid. Didn't the thought even cross your mind for one second during your adventure. I suggest you get tested in 6 weeks.

I'm not into lecturing over a non risk which would include fingering. It is not considered a path to HIV transmission by the CDC. Most likely because any amount would be too small and HIV becomes non-viable once exposed to air and temperature changes. Below is their chart on associated risks for acquisition of HIV. Make sure you are using condoms for any of the sexual activities listed below and you will be good to go.

Exposure route Risk per 10,000 exposures
to an infected source

Blood Transfusion 9,000

Needle-sharing -
injection drug use 67

Receptive anal intercourse 50

Percutaneous needle stick 30

Receptive penile-vaginal
intercourse 10

Insertive anal intercourse 6.5

Insertive penile-vaginal
intercourse 5

Receptive oral
intercourse 1

Insertive oral intercourse 0.5

*Estimates of risk for transmission from sexual exposures assume no condom use.
