HIv home test question
      #272272 - 05/31/13 08:21 AM

I took a icare hiv 1/2 home hiv test , By JAL Innovations. This test is USAID and evaluated by WHO it is also ISO9001,TUV, and GMP certified. Is this test reliable? Results were negative.
I am asking this question for a worried soul (friend) please share you thoughts and concerns if any thanks!!!

He tested 90 days after possible exposure

I should make a chart. If he tested outside the ninety days and is negative why aren't you both happy? If he feels like it isn't reliable enough then he should get up and go to a local HIV testing center to have it done by someone who is qualified to tell him it's without a doubt negative.

Again I don't understand why if he had doubts as to its reliability why he paid the ridiculous amount he did just to question it when he could more easily go and have a free one done. Had it turned out positive he would have to have two more done anyway. No dr here will go by any at home test. They would want their own.

Also didn't you tell me you were a volunteer at an aso? Why aren't you telling him to go to where you volunteer and get tested if he doesn't believe the results?

Kicker,

He is TERRIFED to go to a clinic, He suffers from sever anxiety and panic disorder not to mention Bipolar type 1. And hes parinod. Hes a mess when hes not on his meds. I support his decision. What i have done is contact the test manufactor and verified that the lot number was from there factory JAL Innovations and it was Like i said there ISO,USAID,GMP,TUV ex.... There a ligit source. The kit he was telling me cost 19.90 plus shipping. The lady at JAL told me that they have done clinical trials there with 99% acuracy.

But i will put this issue to bed. If hes worried about the accuracy he needs to go with me to the Clinic Im kinda tired of hearing about it LOL

Have a great day
