HIV negatives with chronic symptoms-how are you doing?
      #269630 - 12/15/12 04:01 PM

Hi all,

I wanted to know how you guys HIV negatives with chronic symptoms are doing. For my part, I'm getting better (very slowly) but finally improving with Cymbalta 60 mg once daily. Still I have some symptoms but at least I could go and make a more or less normal life ...

The next thing I'll try is oxygen therapy and my doctor recommended I take colostrum (apparently they sell at GNC) to strengthen the immune system.

I will tell the results to see if they help with something ...

Greetings!

Thank you Riverprincess, i really appreciate your words. I know i don't have HIV but it would be nice to know what we have in order to get the right treatment. At this point i'm doing trial and mistake method... But getting better and i guess that's the most important thing...
Hugs for you, God bless you for the work you do in here.

Hi, well I'm doing rubbish still. I've got worsening seb derm, gum disease and I'm getting fungal infections. My biggest worry is that my wife and son are suffering with the same symptoms. But, my sons are much worse and he has visibly enlarged lymph nodes. He had a cut exposed to my blood following a cat scratch incident in the home. Anyway, I've had a mixture of 4th and 3rd gen blood drawn and rapid tests totalling 14 out to 5 1/2 years post exposure. I've had a taqscreen mpx test. All negative!! I'm still in a pickle because these symptoms are all associated with a reduced immune system.

@StupidMe, you forgot to mention your totally CD4/CD8 counts:

http://www.thebody.com/cgi-bin/bbs/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=infected&Number=261707

you're absolutely and beyond any doubt HIV negative. I don't deny you have health problems, but they are NOT related to HIV. i hope you will find the reason to your problems.

Yeah, my cd4/cd8 ratio was about 3.4 ish I think. Huge I guess but, I do worry that the test was in error and they had the cd4 and cd8 mixed up. I'm probably being a bit irrational thinking that. But, I think my worst case odds of having HIV are in the region of 1 in a billion. But, it's the symptoms in myself and my family that drives my worries.

Have you looked into any inviormental issues in your home such as possible mold? Or did you paint your house with lead paint , any abestos around? See where my thinking is? The factt that its effecting your family makes me think something might be around that your not aware of.

Hi, thanks for the reply. But, I can't see what differs in my house than my neighbours. The paint is fine, there's no mold issue. Plus, my son have several visibly enlarged lymph nodes. I'm assuming it must be a chronic infection.

I don't buy it. Again, I ask, "has it ever occurred to anyone that we can't make those antibodies when we are exposed? This does impact the immune system afterall. I suggest none of you buy the myth that we don't have it."

My husband transmitted it to me and never told me he was HIV positive. He then refused to pay when I entered the hospital, and I had to divorce him. I learned when I found out he revealed it in open court.

Clearly, I have been too sick since to even create the anti-bodies. I don't buy the myth they are telling selling about "you don't have AIDS". Too many of us know that we do by timing of onset.

I direct you to the rules that I'm sure you took the time to read when you signed up.

"2) Symptoms are unreliable. The standard window period for HIV testing is 12 weeks or three months after your last possible exposure. If infected, people generally develop HIV antibodies by weeks four to six. If you are testing negative outside of the window period, it means you're negative. If you refuse to believe your test results, then there's nothing we can do. "

You smear your e-husband without any proof. What you say you heared in court still did not say he had HIV.

I'm assuming your bitter tone is because you have repeatedly tested negative and are unhappy that no one will agree with you over the fact you don't have HIV.

If you assume that this board is here to support those that refuse to accept their negative status and enable those that want to espouse theories as to why they are correct, you are wrong.

You are HIV negative and if you can't accept that I would suggest that you seek out counseling to work on whatever underlying issues you have that keeps you from accepting that fact. I would also suggest you continue to work with your doctor to determine what your exact health issue may be.

We are here to support those that feel they may have been at risk, and DO NOT yet have a 3 month conclusive test. We are not mental health counselors and can not offer you any further help.
