Well, despite an overwhelming amount of dr. diagnosed symptoms all within the appropriate time frame for HIV infection and despite similar symptoms of my partner...results: NEGATIVE.
I do not even know what to say or how to feel. I keep waiting for them to tell me I have it finally. I have had so many tests (four HIV from baseine to 7 months incl. one PCR). I was tested for diabetes, liver and kidney enzymes, Lyme, Mono--all regular. Yet I had folliculitis for first time ever, had diagnosed petechiae, fatigue, the flulike illness 3 weeks after, break in skin on penis, i even lost a frigging tonsil and had a strand of strep so rare the usual tests don't even pick it up.
Well, maybe I got some weird virus or something but it just sounded so much like HIV and even know it fits buta fter the tests I know at some point you just have to move on and live life. I guess the first people who had HIV, God bless them, didn't get an answer either. I just hope I am noyt going to be like that but one can't spend their whole life fretting it. I mean, I'd hate to be "worried42yo" u know? :)
I just wrote Dr. Bob to thank him for his help--the man's a saint!!
I think maybe I will consult an ID doc now if I can afford it (insurance wont cover) because I would like an answer. Has ANYONE reading ever had all those symptoms and got an answer? I suppose I'd feel better with an explanation since even the doctors said the symptoms could not be psychosomatic. Maybe its some lesser virus they will discover in a few years or something, right? Who knows. Life is crazy and unpredictable and for the last 7 months, its been passing me by. I have to try and live again and am going to convince myself I do NOT have HIV. If I'm the one in a 100,000 or whatever who gets a strain that doesnt show and I get complications 6 or 10 years down the road I suppose I will deal then and accept that I did all I could now. You guys think the ID doc is a good idea? I sure would like an answer. After all this I feel like I need one. I was debating maybe donating blood now; part as a celebration almost and cuz I wish I coulda a few months back when it was needed so badly and part as a just in case. Thatd be ok right? My tests sure say I'm OK.
Well, best of luck to all you guys and I too, like formerlyINFECTED need a new screen name here I guess.
The very best to every one! Believe me, I have learned a valuable lesson!!!

Good luck to everyone!

Congratulations again! You could always change your screen name to "WorriedWell 22y/o".

It's time to get back to enjoying life. I'm sure you learned your lesson. Stop thinking that you might end up with HIV surfacing years later. Just accept that you have some other health problem, perhaps a virus, perhaps not. Maybe just strep, who knows, but it sure isn't HIV.

Donating blood is probably not a very good idea, I don't know. It MIGHT be okay, as long as you answer the screening test questions honestly. They will decide whether your blood is too risky for them, but please don't lie on your answers.

I'd say that you have tested more than enough now. Seeing a specialist might make sense IF your symptoms are real. I am not sure what symptoms you still have, but given your state of mind, I wouldn't be surprised if you are exaggerating them to bolster your desire for more HIV tests. Maybe start looking at your health objectively, and see if you can make yourself better using exercise, diet, and rest.

Take care, and stop worrying. You have a second chance don't blow it!

I also experienced and am still experiencing symptoms after 2 neg tests, and I am still very worried. My last neg test was 16 weeks following a very minimal exposure, I posted a couple of weeks ago under ;if you think you are infected read this; I was disappointed in the lack of interest in my post, which listed my symptoms in a follow up also. Please
read them and comment as everything i endured was genuine, where do I go from here I do not know.

Lack of response to your post: Probably because you sounded like you finally realized that it was not HIV, and we thought you were posting as an example of how symptoms are meaningless. HIV is not diagnosed by symptoms, and your tests so far prove that symptoms are a terrible way to guess your odds about HIV infection.

The only response you got was from "INFECTED" to tell you that his symptoms were worse than yours, and that his fit the ARS timing even better than yours. And last we heard form him, he claims to test negative now too.

Ongoing symptoms need to be looked at by a doctor. Once all the tests are done, if the doctor can't find anything, then what else can you do? Stop worrying and start taking better care of yourself. Be more careful, live your life, and be happy that you don't have HIV.
