Hi! I know many would say they wish they tested negative on an HIV test and I should ignore and celebrate....But I have symptoms that I just can't ignore. This is really ruining my Christmas but these symptoms are too strange and unusual for me to do so. I believe that ignoring them and doubting them wouldn't be responsible. Here are my symptoms:
1. Enlarged saliva gland under the tongue, began about 4 months ago. 2. Sore throat for 2 week (continuing to this day, I had my tonsils removed and have not had a sore throat since I was 6 years old). 3. Dry cough. ^ The above circumstances caused me to go see a doctor 4. Doctor confirmed that among other things, I also have Oral Thrush. Tested Negative at 18 weeks from exposure (last possible exposure August 2, tested December 10) but sore throat and oral thrush began after Black Friday Nov 23 only 2 weeks ago.
The bizarre set of circumstances I am dealing with do not calm me. To be honest, I am angry because I have to tell my family I am "negative" and give them false hope. I have too many symptoms, strange symptoms to ignore.

Sine everything is pertaining to your mouuth . Did your doctor prescribe anything for your thrush? That could be contributing to your sore throat and possibly a clogged duct under yur tongue , I have no doubt that it is annoying but rest assured it's not Hiv. If dr did not give you any antibiotics or Diflucan then perhaps go see a ear nose and throat dr. But I have a funny feeling that it's all due to the thrush which is just a form of a yeast infection. Start eating some yogurt also.

Thank you for giving me some hope riverprincess. Unfortunately, I do not believe I had the white tongue until after I got a flu starting on Black Friday which caused me to have a bout of malaise for 2 days followed by flu like symptoms. Everything let up except the dry cough, sore throat, and sudden appearance of Oral Thrush. I cough but nothing comes up.

Thank you everyone for you response. I took the standard elisa/western blot test. I know I took it at the 18 week mark, but most of my symptoms only took place at lets say, week 15.
