I had an exposure of broken condom during vaginal sex with an HIV positive female CSW, am male in mid-march 2012. Many symptoms started at 4weeks post exposure and some of them are still on. Just to mention a few: Flu –the worst ever in my life, for about 4weeks now gone. Cough- for about 6weeks now gone. Nausea –for about 4weeks now gone. Diarrhea for about 2 days. Mouth ulcers for about 2wks. Sharp Joint and muscle pains- from week 10 until today Stomach pains- from week 10 until today Stomach waves, movement and sounds-from week 4 until now and it’s getting worse on each day.
Test done so far: 1month post exposure-rapid determine –Negative 2months post exposure-rapid determine –Negative 3months post exposure-rapid determine –Negative 3.5months post exposure-rapid determine –Negative 4months post exposure-rapid determine –Negative
Am totally worked out.
Almost sure am HIV positive but probably unable to produce antibodies?
I would appreciate your advice.

While you may have convinced yourself you have HIV, your tests prove otherwise. The CDC puts the odds of transmission from your activity at 5 in 10,000. So it was never a given that you would become HIV positive and your tests show that you remained negative. You didn't need any further testing after 3 months.

Crabman,
Thank you for your response but i read on CDC that at 3months its 97% of people infected who would test positive and 3% would take longer upto 6months.
Could mine be a case of delayed /prolonged seroconversion?

Well first off they haven't changed those percentages since the first tests came out.
However if you are a chronic IV drug user, have cancer and currently in Chemotherapy, taking immune suppression drugs because of an organ transplant, then yes, it MAY take longer than 3 months.
Be careful the slippy slope you are on. Read through all the worried well postings where people have let their obsession over a disease they don't have take over their life.
Don't do this to yourself. It seems from where I sit that the obsession is a hundred times worse than HIV itself.

If for whatever reason the body has not produced any antibodies 12 weeks after the exposure - would it be more likely this person would experience ARS symptoms or basically feeling being ill for a longer period because the body has not produced the antibodies by 12 weeks and the virus is left to replicate?
I'll test tomorrow at 4.5months post exposure then will update you.
Thank You

now that you've convinced yourself you have HIV based on internet searching, go ahead and unconvince yourself.
trust crabman and me when we say you're negative. 3 months is the window period and your test result is conclusive for your ordinary risk. 4.5 months will be negative also. accept it and be happy you're negative!

when I took. my last test the nurse said here in 3rd world country don't have newer test but only antibody tests which are considered conclusive at six months. Now that I have persistent symptoms that I can't ignore am convinced I was infected. I also saw a medical doctor at somepoint and said"u were probably infected but your body is slow in producing antibodies to a detectable level " because then I had a three month negative. Am really confused.

The doctor told you "you probably have it but haven't developed enough antibodies"? Well that's very encouraging! That's the most dumbest thing to say. These doctors are beginning to make me feel like they are a bunch of ignorant, illiterate assholes!

Would coinfection with hepatitis B and or C cause delayed seroconversion?

Saturday is a defining moment for me. I'll go pick my results for 4months +3weeks post exposure.
--Severe muscle, joint and random body pains currently on. --Feeling like my body is invaded by ants randomly. --Sharp abdominal pains with nausea back now but no vomiting.
Is this delayed/prolonged seroconversion?
How can someone prepare for a positive result?
I am scared than ever before.

again, symptoms are unreliable when it comes to HIV. so no, it is not delayed seroconversion.
and again, your test result will be negative. stop convincing yourself you're positive when your tests outside the window period are negative. meaning you are negative.
do not be scared. tests are empirical evidence that you are negative. trust those over symptoms.

Ok Bartleby,
I'll wait for Saturday, go pick my results (whichever way they turn to) and take it on from there.
However i wish to thank all for the words of advise. Keep it up for the good work.

First of all, you're HIV negative. You already tested out of the window period. Second, are you even sure that the CSW had HIV or is it just an assumption of yours?

It's not an assumption am making whether the woman is positive., it's confirmed.
Though i have a series of Negative results... am feeling seriously something is wrong in my body...
Anyway it's a few hours before i can know the status...
