ARS RASH
      #26416 - 01/05/02 02:17 PM

Just a note...it CAN itch and last for more than a week and sometimes looks like acne and it can change places and look like a different rash when it changes

Are you speaking from experience? Can it appear as a small patch on the upper left side of one's back with slight itch? I thought it felt like bug bites. It lasted 2-3 days...3 weeks after possible exposure.

i am speaking from exp. It is almost always symetrical...meaning it would be the same on both sides of the body...if it is only on one side you have little to worry about

Hi,

The ARS rash, when present, can vary dramaticly. The rash usually involves the UPPER arms, chest, back and can include the neck and face. The rash is usually maculopapular(flat to slightly raised, splotchy) and mostly resembles the color of a SUNBURN, which can very to a faint pink. I have personally NEVER heard of the rash ever itching. Itching is usually related to an allergic reaction. However, with that said, there is really no such thing as the ARS rash because everyone's body is different and reacts differently. Itching would NOT surprise me however. MANY rashes resembling different conditions can be mimicked by the so called ARS rash. The existance or absence of a rash does NOT in of itself idicate ARS. One reported case was a man who had the ARS rash from head to toe. One thing is certain with the ARS rash, when present, it's usually profound enough for an individual to take major notice, however, not alway's...

Hoped that helped
