Precum on fresh scratch
      #264051 - 06/23/12 06:25 PM

Hi, I have asked this question elsewhere but was wondering if anyone else has anything to say about it. I am really really worried :-/

LONG STORY SHORT: Fresh precum from head directly onto fresh scratch between my anus and testicles. risk?

the Whole story:

I recently got some fresh precum of my partner on the area between my testicles and my anus, and there was a scratch that occurred on that exact spot only a few minutes before the precum came into contact. his penis head touched directly on the scratch, and i could feel the cold temperature and wetness of the precum against my skin. i couldnt feel a burn from the precum, but afterwards when i took a shower, the water and also the soap caused a burning sensation, which leads me to believe it was open. when the precum touched the cut, there was blood plasma (clear fluid) coming from my cut. The thing is, what originally caused the scratch was my finger nails, just itching down there earlier in the day, and then his beard scratch it up again when he was fooling around down there (aggressively). There was also saliva on the scratch, I am hoping that his saliva could have possibly blocked the infectious precum from going into the scratch? so many questions, i am sorry.

just really really nervous. I asked him if he was negative before we hooked up, he said yes... and when i was scared after, i asked again, and he seemed a little annoyed, and then especially annoyed and a little cryptic when i asked when he was tested last. people just sketch me out sometimes! never doing the random hook up thing again.

you don't have to worry about this. your risk was insignificant. hypothetical at best.

not sure what other risks you've had since then. but if you want to get a test after 3 months for peace of mind, go for it. it will surely be negative.

have you ever heard or read of infections happening from semen to cuts?

Thank you.

no, never. i have read a lot of stories from people who were worried about it. but never infected.

like i said, it's a hypothetical risk at best. you do not have to worry.

Thanks a lot. I guess I am just worried because wherever there is a website which explains the ways in which HIV is transmitted, they always mention cuts sores and broken skin. I guess they continue to say that just in case/liability? it is scary! I know i shouldn't be worried anymore but it is really difficult to get my mind off of it! by the way, my partner was tested in late march and found negative, so I am being ridiculous in thinking that in his 30 years of life, he avoided infection, and then between the end of march and now he acquired the virus and gave it to me through a completely random hypothetical cut that might not have been open or might not have even touched the precum.... Thanks for listening.. :-)

I am still really scared Mr. Bartleby, my right knee is really achey and has been for a week... I am only 21 and have never had this kind of joint pain. Hurts to walk. also, my groin lymphs on the same side of that knee were sore but not very swollen, but I think ti was because i was pushing them around.

If I were to be experiencing ARS, would I have a fever, or do the symptoms come with or without each other/ at different times? :-(

also when you say Hypothetical, you don;t mean no risk... and just because it hasn't been reported doesnt mean that it is a lower risk than unprotected sex, correct? maybe people just haven't had this kind of weird exposure, and if they did, maybe their partners weren't even positive.... just feeling really pessimistic and unlucky today. don't know why a few of my lymphs and glands are sore.

Hypothetically you could get hit by a bus tomorrow. Hypothetically you could become a millionaire tomorrow.
Hypothetically you could discover the cure for HIV tomorrow.
Hypothetically you could find out you're some long lost royal son of some remote King tomorrow.

See what Hypothetical means? Any of the above COULD happen, but the odds of it happening are Infinitesimal.

The CDC doesn't even bother to put the activity you described as even a risk on a chart of exposes that can lead to transmission.

You just didn't have a risk. I would be in your best interest to accept that before you allow yourself to screw up your life as a worried well.

I am just worried because I often see statements such as this:

"HIV can enter the body through:

Lining of the anus or rectum
Lining of the vagina and/or cervix
Opening to the penis
Mouth that has sores or bleeding gums
Cuts and sores
Needles (syringes)

Healthy skin is an excellent barrier against HIV and other viruses and bacteria. HIV cannot enter the body through unbroken skin."

It is from Aids.gov, and the info comes from CDC
