Hi guys, do you have any information about this? Can it be possible that this antipsychotic alters the result of an HIV test? Is there actually any medicine that alters the result of an HIV test? I've asked this questions to the experts at TheBody several days ago but got no answer. I'd appreciate if you have any information about this. Thanks in advance!

According to
http://www.medhelp.org/posts/HIV-Prevention/HIV-Testing-while-on-Antibiotics/show/255861
the only kind of medications that can alter the result of an HIV test are:
"1) antiretroviral therapy, which when used as post-exposure prophylaxis might delay a positive test result (if the PEP doesn't work); and 2) potent chemotherapy, as for leukemia or other cancers (and that isn't known for sure, just speculated)."

Hi nicole, thank you very much for posting the article! So I guess according to this article, it would make no sense to think that there can be a specific article about sulpiride and HIV test somewhere in the internet. Again, thanks nicole!

When I google for sulpiride specifically it actually took me to this post! The initial google search I did was "will antipshycotics effect a HIV test result".
Perhaps you can call in to Planned Parenthood or somewhere of similar nature and ask them. They would know for sure.

The answer is NO. Antipsycotics meds act on neurotransmisors in your brain and the central nervous system , they have nothing to do with your inmunological system which is the one that produces the antibodies.

Thanks nicole and sherezade for your answers! I googled for sulpiride and HIV but didn't get any result. At least, I found out that other medicines which act on the nervous system such as alprazolam have nothing to do with HIV testing. Just like sherezade said. I would assume it's the same for sulpiride.
