About a month ago, I had unprotected anal sex with a man of unknown status. It was a moment of indiscretion. I tested negative for HIV a little more than a month after the possible exposure (we all know that negative results within the 3 month window should really be treated as inconclusive). However, I contracted Gonorrhea at that time. And let me say with all certainty, Gonorrhea can take about a month to show its ugly head. I am concerned that if I contracted Gonorrhea, that the chance is very likely that I contracted HIV too. I will not pretend and ask questions about my status as no one will know until the actual test results come out. But, is there a test that I can take that will give me a reliable answer while I am still within that window? And, where can I take such test, or what kind of test should I ask for?

PCR RNA. Expensive and not considered a diagnostic test, but it may ease your mind.
