Similar to infected case

I, for one, can understand how INFECTED felt having to go through this terrible time with all the symptoms. I have posted my own experience in Dr. Bob's forum. Briefly:
Exposure: protected anal and vagina sex with a high risk sex worker.
Concern: no lubrications used for anal sex (brand new condom) and did not check for breakage. 2 days after, discovered sore on penis while having a shower.
Problem started: exactly 30 days later with sore throat which lasted 2 days (drank 6-7 liters of water a day to get rid of the sore and prevent fever which I managed to). Day 33, had burning tongue (both side) that lasted 2-3 hours. Day 34, throat got aggravated again as I tried to cough out 'something' that I felt was in my throat. Lasted for 5 days. In between had 3 mild diarrhea (within 2 days). Mild nite sweats for 2 days on day 40/41 (approx).On week 6, discovered swollen parotid nodes (both sides), submental, groin and anterior cervical. Still persist after 2 months (since end Oct). Acute severe diarrhea on day 60 and 61. Believe me...it is like experiencing wasting process, what went in came out almost immediately and that includes water and I was literally in the toilet after every half hour. Even finishing a tab of lomotil cant stop it. Went to a Doc and was pescribe imodium and were asked to stop eating for a day, diarrhea went off but not the gasiness which lasted for 5 days. Throughout these 3 months, experienced malaise, fatigue and depress. Will get tested, but not now, as couple of issues need to be resolved.
So, I share the same pain as INFECTED. However I do agree with Gregg that there is life even if you are tested positive. But of course, given the option, I would want to live without this pesky virus (quote from Dr Bob). I guess chances are slim looking at the strong symptoms especially generalised swollen nodes for more than 2 months. I pray and will continue to pray for the HIV+ and for the worried well. Some good things that come out from this experience: understand how HIV+ers feel and going through (I have pledged to do more in creating awareness), understand the disease better and more improtantly I begin to appreciate life more.

What in the world could be an issue important enough to prevent you from testing? Test today!

Don't give up hope, most people on this board have had many unusual symptoms only to be negative. As I have been told, you can't go by symptoms, only the test will tell.

...or don't get the test and don't learn the truth (`cuz nobody can save you..) but always use condoms

Night sweats? I had them for 2 weeks
Swollen nodes? Ive had them until now
Diarrhea? I had it for like 3 days
Sore throat? I had it for 2 or 3 days
Burning sensation in tongue? I still have it
My exposure? Similar to yours
The good news is that I tested neg in a 5 month test. So go get tested, if I dont have it, you dont have it either.

Calm your fears and get tested my friend.
I can tell you this...you used protection and that's the best one can do. If used properly and if the condom did not break than you are at LOW/NO Risk. I do not see how you could have been exposed to her fluids as described in your encounter.
The sore on your penis could have been an irritation or it could have been the beginning of VD. VD is much more infectious than HIV and can be gotten even with the use of condoms.
Your timeline/symptom list shows that you are overly paranoid and I believe some of your symptoms may be psychosomatic.
How do you know that the woman was HIGH risk? Most prostitutes are more careful about sex than the regular Joe.
How do you know that your nodes are swollen? Have you had your doctor evaluate this?
Testing is the only way to find out...it will definitely ease your mind.
Based on what you describe I would be very surprised if you were positive.

Actually it was not sore but abrasion (between the skin and the head) which I suspect was a result of condom defect. (wonder anyone had this experience before).And yes, my swollen nodes were verified by a Dr. The Doc mentioned it could be viral infection but did not suspect anything beyond that. Didnt pescribe any med as he said that the nodes will be back to norm after the infection. As for why I'm suspecting that she could be POZ is bcos she dont even bother to check whether I'm putting on condom or not. With that attitude, cant blame me for suspecting that she's indeed +.

I feel swollen nodes on neck but I have pain in armpits. I think it's my nodes that cause this pain but I cant feel them.
