Hi. I had protected vaginal sex with a stranger in Sep 2011. At that time i had my finger in her vagina. 6-7 weeks after that i was in Hospital for muscle breakdown which was caused due to untreated undiagnosed HypoThyroid. When at Hospital they found some spots on lungs which were present for more than 10 years now. So they did a HIV test and it came NEGATIVE. AT that time its been 6-7 weeks after having protected sex with stranger. Last week i was at Physicians office for pain in rib cage and Infectious doctor also viewed my armpits and mouth for an infection and did not find any.I have few small red dots for 2-3 years on arm and i saw new ones coming in last 1 month. I also understand Being HypoThyroid skin changes. I have some cough in last 10 days and no fever.Last week my Physicals were normal and blood culture was normal.
Im going through anxiety and could i be having an opportunistic infection?
Next week I'm applying for a life insurance policy and i don't know what blood tests they will be doing on me.
Please advise.
Regards - B

Well let's see....OI typically show up after the immune system is so decimated that it can't protect the body. In the case of HIV infection that's about a decade. Now you had no risk in September and your negative test result shows you did not acquire HIV prior to that.
You don't have an opportunistic infection, you weren't at risk in Sept of 2011. Look elsewhere to find you why you are having health issues. It certainly is not from HIV.

you CANT get HIV from PROTECTED sex...
you CANT have an HIV related OI, when you DONt have HIV to begin with....
in closing... how can you come here, to a website willing to trust/accept typed words, yet you OBVIOUSLY dont trust/accept actual test results by trained professionals? how do YOU think that makes you look?...
