Unlike some of the posts about rubbing up against a toilet seat do I have HIV, I had a stupid, drunk encounter with a stripper. Unprotected anal that only lasted a minute or so & then I sobered up going "What the hell am I doing!". It was obvious she had done this before as I could have fit 3 of me in her butt. Anyway, I did not have any symptoms right away but 4 weeks later I came down with the flu like symptoms. My question is where these ars symptoms or the flu? Do you get the snots, head cold etc...with ARS or simply swollend glands, throat, & fever w/out the snots that you have with the flu? I do not know her status but am assuming the worst...I am praying that the short duration & that there wasn't much friction that would cause any hurt to her anal since it was like the lincoln tunnel that I may get another chance....fingers crossed

I think with questions like that you can ask 10 different people on here and you will get 10 different answers. I have no signs when I was infected. No flu, no fever, no head cold, no swolen lymph nodes. Nothing at all.
The best and only way to know for sure is to get tested. Follow the CDC window guideline. Don't assume every sneeze or cut that heals slowly or ache is HIV related. Your mind can play major tricks on you. (I'm not saying that everyone who has symptons has them all in their head) but come on. When you think the worst about anything your body will react as if the worst is happening.
Good Luck
I am happy to read tho that you still have your humor. I laughed several times at your discription of the stripper.

Hello Anonymous,
UNprotected ANAL SEX without a condom is considered "VERY HIGH RISK". Being that she is in the ADULT ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY, being she would even let you do that to her without a condom is not a good thing. You say this girl was loose, well as you mentioned, she has probably done this a few times before. The reason HIV had alway's been related to GAY MEN in the past was because of all of the UNprotected ANAL sex that was going on in that lifestyle. Ask yourself, "What difference is there between MEN or WOMAN if your having UNprotected ANAL sex?" There is no difference, GAY or STRAIGHT. The problem with ANAL is the lack of natural lubrication loose or not. Also the ANAL region bleeds far easier, and tears you the giver up far quicker, thus causing lacerations on the penis far easier. The ANAL region also contains a mucous that the virus can be easily transmitted through. Now to your question...
ARS has NO SPECIFIC Symptoms...However, Sneezing, running nose, etc..., based on all my reading of ARS, that would NOT be ARS. Sneezing and running nose sounds like a bad COLD. However, at the time of PRIMARY INFECTION, the VIRAL LOAD is VERY HIGH in the blood at this time and attacks the immune system very hard, so just because it sounds like a COLD, this doesn't mean that's all it was. A cold may be an additional response to the sudden onset of weakend immunity. The main things that you need to look for are a FEVER, SWOLLEN GLANDS, FATIGUE, SWOLLEN TONSILS, SORE THROAT and maybe possibly a RASH. If you do have the rash, it is said to most always frequent the UPPER CHEST, UPPER BACK, UPPER ARMS, NECK, and maybe the FACE. It is said to resemble a sunburn, or be a faint pink color. THE BOTTOM LINE is you need CLINICAL COMFORMATION, Get tested ASAP. 1 minute is plenty enough time to pass HIV from one person to another. Based on the risk, I would find an HIV specialist and have him do a PCR VIRAL LOAD test on you if it's been sooner that 3 months post exposure. If it has been 3 months or longer, I would go get a ELISA ANTIBODY test done and maybe still a PCR just for more reassurance.
IF THE ENCOUNTER WAS A MONTH AGO, I WOULD FIND OUT ASAP BECAUSE IF YOU DO HAVE IT, I WOULD TRY AND TREAT IT AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. DESPITE THE 72 HOUR TIME WINDOW WITH PEP, I WOULD TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT PEP. PEP HAS AN 80% KILL RATE OF HIV IF ADMINISTERED WITHIN THE FIRST 72 HOURS AFTER POSSIBLE INFECTION. JUST EXPLORE ALL OF YOUR OPTIONS...
On the bright side, the encounter was quick. The fact that she was loose might have saved you do to less friction. And just remember this, she would have to have HIV to give it to you. If you have her number, I would insist she got a test, this is another key to knowing for sure...
I hope you don't have it, I will include you in my prayers. Hang in there!

I will be getting tested shortly...and at 6 months. I do worry since having unprotected was of no concern to her....You can imagine what has gone thru my head. "well..if she knew she had hiv, why would she risk giving to another?" "well...if she didnt care about unprotected sex, she probably has it & doesnt care about infecting others".
From all the info on this site, i unfortunately think I am at high risk & although my symptoms were mild....like you said...some have none at all. I had mild flu-like symptoms at 2 weeks with tons of typical cold symptoms. A swollen lymph node under right arm at 4 weeks with a small rash by my armpit but not nodes all over the body. Dry mouth & white tongue which I got checked out for thrush but the DR thought it was from my current medication.
