Is this ars Symptom? did i pass the seroconversion
      #257921 - 09/25/11 08:17 PM

I had sex with a girl. We kept contact, and couple of days, she contacted me saying that she was HIV + and that i had to test.

We were not under the unflence of any drugs. She gave me fellation and our genitals were rubing. I had body fluids on my penis and the head of my penis was pushing at the entry of her vagina and her anus. As far as i know, there were no penetration, at least haven't felt any penetration and she is telling me that there was no penatration, i hope there wasn't. I had some open cuts on the shaft of my penis and near the uretha and probably was on the entry of her vagina and anus, like i said, i haven't felt any penetration. 12 days after our encounter, i had a sorethroat, i woke up with a fatigue ( it is not the way i used to be fatigued, was very sleepy and my muscle were tired), i was sleepy for 4 days, i had chills and cold sensation, but it was kind of hot where i live. felt like freezing at some point of the day. I had a little rash on my neck and face, a little bit on my back. and a white tongue. as far as i know, i have not felt any fever, but i felt some headache. Sometimes, i could have some hot flashes. During the fatigue, i would feel my feet and knee really tired ( it is a kind of fatigue i have ever felt in the past) a couple of days after, i realized that i had some red spot on my penis, on the shaft. A couple of day after, i would wake up at night, having a little bit of sweat on my body, once i woke up to the toillet, i felt like freezing, i don't know if i had a fever while sleeping. After this, my white tongue and the redish spot on my penis with a dry shin (white) on it went away leaving a little red sore on my tongue. They all came together and all gone together. After having all these symptoms, i got really scared and start thinking about ARS symptoms. It is not about the anxiety because i had them before knowing her status and before checking symptoms on the internet. I had a blood test 29 days after our encounter and came back negative, i'm waiting the 6th weeks but i can't think other than a positive result. I have read a little bit on the forum and saw the fellatio does not carry any risk. Would it be a coincidence having all these symptoms or is it typically ars? i'm scared about the cuts going on the opening of the entry of her vagina and the entry of her anus. after our sexual act, i had a burning sensation disconfort in the uretha that went away a day after. On my penis, it is more like iin infection i had before sex ( Candida), what a read, it is an open door for the virus, so what im thinking it must have had contact with the virus. i also had malaise and constipation.

Can you give me your opinion about it, hopefully that could ease a little bit my mind

Thanks

Hi. I know you are worried about your exposure to HIV. What I learned is that your risk appears low because no penetration. However, I can see your concern based on indicating that your penis had "body fluids on my penis and the head of my penis was pushing at the entry of her vagina and her anus." And it seems you gotten sick with all these symptoms 12 days later.

You tested Negative 29 days after your at risk exposure. I think that is comfortable testing Negative. It is also great that you will follow up with another test very soon. I was thinking that perhaps you experienced these symptoms based out of anxiety when your partner told you she was HIV+. I would be and I have been scared as well based on my personal expereinces. I would think that your chances of contracting the HIV virus is very low.

You are scared at this time. I think you should continue to your HIV testing after three -six months (after exposure) according to CDC. Your 29 days after your at risk exposure seems encouraging. So, try not to worry a lot. Keep your mind occupied, stay away from searching online for HIV symptoms, stop checking your symtpoms constantly such as white tongue in the mirror, checking your temperature, checking your throat. I would advise you to make an appointment with your physician and talk with your doctor about HIV and ask all kinds of questions to help your ease your mind.

Take care and good luck.

@ Rusty Please for my own enlightenment Please tell me the actual link that has a current year (lets say the last 2) that you are quoting from the CDC. I looked but couldn't find any that stated the CURRENT standard for HIV testing is 3 and 6 months.

I found plenty that say that you should have a yearly test, plenty that say the rapid tests are 99+% accurate at 3 months, but nothing current on testing at 3 and 6 months after exposure.

In fact that only thing I found that even remotely resembled those guidelines was if you have treatment for cancer or have had an organ replacement or are on immune suppressant drugs. (Such as you would be for a bone marrow replacement or kidney replacement)

3 months for a regular healthy adult is the gold standard.

Also a little biology lesson that I have repeated time and time again, if you are having symptoms than your body is responding to infection creating antibodies. The rapid HIV tests look for antibodies. At three months (some as little as 6 weeks) you have produced enough antibodies for these tests to show HIV infection. UNLESS you are a cancer or organ transplant patient currently being treated with radiation or medications.

Please unless you can find a document with the current year labeled right in the header, don't spread the information. You are a worried well, you are doing no one any favors by posting your own misinformed and irrational beliefs and certainly only helping people feel even more worried and scared and perpetuating the stigma around the disease.

@merci Your risk was negligible at best. HIV is a fragile virus, contact with air kills it. Hence why you don't hear people becoming infected through mutual masturbation, fingering, etc.

My next question would be how long has this person been positive? What was her reasoning for not telling you before sex but waiting a few days then calling you to tell you? Is she on medication? Why can't you feel if you have penetrated or not? (I think that last one would be my biggest concern. Sounds to me that MR Happy has had a neck injury.)

Also read on here how many people have been in your same boat, exact same story, had sex with a girl but didn't enter her, few days later she either calls or you hear it through the grapevine she is positive, then you have all these symptoms, only to spend months telling people like me we are wrong that you are positive, to finally coming back and saying whoops you were wrong and how all the people like you shouldn't worry and believe their 3 month test result.

I swear there is at least one a month on average. Just putting it out there.

Thanks for answering, that ease a little bit my mind. Why im not sure if it entered is because it was dark and my penis was poking her anus, i had touched my penis near the uretha and found it not so sensible, so i was scared that it had dipped a little bit. Since i got a lot of symptoms, i got scared and comfronted her by email, and the she admited that she was positive, this is why this situation is killing me

Merci225,

Its good you feel less anxious. I know how scary it is for you and everyone that is concern about their exposure, especially if we start to convince our self we have HIV based on multiple symptoms. I read and learned from many doctors I seen and people in this website regarding the elisa test. The elisa test is very sensitive and that means it would have pick up the HIV antibodies. So it is a reliable test.

I used to worry and question a lot about my multiple HIV test results and at times, I still have negative thoughts such as doubts, but I am learning to manage my anxiety about HIV negative results.

Your negative HIV test result says that you are negative. You will be okay. Just hang in there and for a peace of mind for you, if you still anxious down the road, you always have an option of taking another HIV test after six months from your last exposure. This was what I learned from my doctors. I am sure you will be okay.

Thanks alot for aswering, you are a good person, I'll probably take one at 6 week 8week and 13 week hehe, i have been told that with elisa, 90 % of people get detected after 4 week, so i guess my 5th week is good, i hope everything remain negative. I also have been told that if those symptoms were due to hiv, it would have apeared positive a week after my symptoms bagan, so this is very encouraging to know that those symptoms weren't due to hiv, hop i can rely on this

two weeks to atopic dermatitis in breast-neck collar (scabs of blood)

three months a year and strong rash on the back. nodes in the groin for a month and night sweats for a week.

Xerosis year in the face.

two years diarrhea treated with loperamide. and sores on the tongue 20 in total.

pcr qualitative risk three months negative.

Not that I have my partner was negative for a year and then did not know more than the ... ELISA does not change after six mees ... so my partner is negative.
