Has anyone actually seroconverted after a 6-8 week negative? Or has anyone heard of this happening? i can't trust in my negative 6 week 4th gen duo test result as being conclusive because i still have a few symptoms such as an irritated throat and an extremely mild dry cough 2 MONTHS on

as always, symptoms are unreliable when it comes to HIV, especially if they're as common as irritated throat and a cough. negative test result at 6-8 weeks is very encouraging. since you are still worried and keep asking, i suggest you take another test at 12 weeks and move on. chances are high it will be negative again.

It is extremely rare for someone to test positive at 3 months when they have a 6 week negative. Almost impossible.
ONGOING - CHRONIC SYMPTOMS ARE NOT A SIGN OF INITIAL HIV INFECTION. I find it interesting how people that cite all sorts of symptoms as a reason they should continue to worry in the face of negative test results rise above this fact.

so given all your responses and my supposedly negligibly low risk encounter, would you recommend a retest at 3 months? i can get tested again in 4 days which would be 3 months post exposure or do you think i'd only need to retest for peace of mind which is what everyone has been saying
