I am really worried over a possible but unlikely and low risk exposure. It has been 9 months since the exposure and reading the posts on this board and those on the 'women' board, I am worried and startng to question if severe dandruff is any indication of hiv infection. I always had dandruff but it was never this bad. I also seem to be suffering from dry skin on my cheeks. People I consulted say these are all due to stress from thinking about hiv 24/7. I wonder if anyone here can help me. I haven't been tested yet as I am afraid to and people have told me that a test is not neccessary in my case as my risk is almost non existent. My 'risk' was sustaining a deep cut in a public bathroom paper 'serrator'( that used for tearing toilet paper) and worrying about being exposed to hiv infected fluids that may have been present but was not noticed.

Dandruff is not a sympton of HIV. It is definetly a symptom of stress and a lot of times of the weather. When it gets cold and dry people experience much more dry skin then normal.
Also there is ZERO% chance of contracting HIV through a cut on a toilet paper despencer in a bathroom. HIV is just not spread that way.
Good Luck and try to relax
