Hi All,
Can HIV be transmitted through nose mucous membranes?
My exposure was, accidental nose picking with unknown person's blood in my fingers? Only after the nose picking incident I realized that the person I had handshake was bleeding and I was exposed to his blood on my fingers(index finger).
If HIV transmission is possible in this manner, how much blood is needed?
Really worried and stressed out thinking about the incident.
I read some articles on internet saying mucous membrane like eye and nose can be a passage for the virus to get in if there is a contact with contaminated blood. That's the thing making me worried.
Hope to get some answers from experts in this forum.
Thank you.

You had absolutely zero risk. None. HIV is a very fragile virus and doesn't survive long after it's left the body. Stop reading absolute garbage all over the internet. You're fine.
