HIV test results? Will vote best answer?
I have only been intimate with one person in my life and we have only had oral sex so far (both ways). I met him in August of 2008 and broke up in Jan of 2009. We got back together in Feb of this year but our last sexual activity occured in march and he claims he has not dated anyone since we broke up the first time. Five months later I began experiencing weird symptoms: tingling and burning sensations in limbs, rashes on vagina and anus and vagina is also swollen from time to time. I was tested for all STDs including HIV FIVE MONTHS after our intimate moments. All came back NEGATIVE including HIV. If he did have HIV, wouldn't I have tested positive since I have been with him since August 2008? What could be caushing this?

"If he did have HIV, wouldn't I have tested positive since I have been with him since August 2008?"

Not necessarily. It's one of those myths about HIV, being exposed to HIV has never meant automatic infection. There have been cases of partners being together for years and one finds out they have HIV, yet the other partner has remained negative.

It depends on the level of risk that is taken. Oral sex just isn't a great risk. There are no confirmed cases from receiving and only a handful from giving in the last 30 years.

The really important fact is that you tested negative well over the window for a conclusive test result. You are HIV negative.

What could be causing this? That's for your doctor to determine. What you do know for sure is that HIV and other STDs are not the cause of your health issues.
