Hello, I recently had sex with a prostitute and was so drunk(and stupid) i couldn't think of any possible dangers. The prostitute had several cold sores on her body. We had unprotected oral sex (lasted less than a minute) and 2 times protected vaginal sex. Next day i started recalling all the facts and gone crazy. 3 days after the incident i started to have chills , fever(100 F) runny nose & sneezing which lasted for 3 days. After 3 days the fever continues and now i have a sore throat as well which also makes me think of possible infection. My question is , considering she had other STD due to the cold sores , could i be infected by touching the cold sores ? I mean by infected by an std (like syphilis or herpes) which can easily be transmitted with a simple contact can i be infected by HIV just by getting one of these STD? Is there any chance to be infected by herpes by a simple contact and in this herpes virus to get HIV as well?
Do you think it was a hilgy risk behaviour having 2 protected vaginal contacts and 1 unprotected oral contact with a woman with cold sores?
Thanks in advance

HIV and herpes are two separate viruses. they do not piggyback on each other. you would not get HIV through herpes.
HIV: the unprotected oral sex carries a very, very low risk of HIV. protected vaginal sex is not a risk at all for HIV. therefore, not "highly risky behavior" at all.
Herpes: Read Herpes Simplex (Cold Sores and Genital Herpes) and Understanding Genital Herpes.
"Most people get genital herpes by having sex with someone who is shedding the herpes virus either during an outbreak or an asymptomatic (without symptoms) period. People who do not know they have herpes play an important role in transmission because they are unaware they can infect a sexual partner.
You can transmit herpes through close contact other than sexual intercourse, through oral sex or close skin-to-skin contact, for example."

Thank you very much for the info.
I have one more question, after 3 days of exposure i have fever which goes only up to 100 f (37 C) usually during the night , sore throat and night sweats. My lymph nodes do not seem bigger although i do feel something from my ears to my throat. I'm not seeking for a diagnosis but i was wondering wether symptoms can start after three days of exposure/ Right now it's been 8 days and the symptoms still exist since the 3d day. Besides this can the symptoms be related to another std?
Thanks

Contacting herpes is no big deal. I have it and don't have any health issues, after a while your system gets used to it and sore will eventually stop. Contacting HIV is what you need to worry about
