Hi I received unprotected oral sex from 2 different guys of unknown HIV status(i'm a female). I did such a stupid thing and I hate myself for it. Anyway, am I at risk for getting HIV? Is testing even medically necessary? the forum on medhelp.org says that testing is NOT necessary for this, as this is NOT risky, but I'm worried anyway. What do you guys say? I tested negative for gonorrhea, chlamydia and syphilis.

The CDC places the risk of infection for a man receiving oral sex at 1 in 20,000 and that's just theoretical since there has never been a confirmed case of transmission in this manner. They don't even bother to list a woman receiving oral sex from a man as a risk.
Saliva is known not to be infectious and has been found to contain enzymes that destroy the virus.
Make sure to always use condoms for intercourse and you will be fine.

Why do they not mention women?
So, based on these stats, would you say I'm NOT at risk for getting HIV?

Do you have issues with reading comprehension? What did I say?
OK to put it simply. NO

You don't get infected from receiving a blow job. That 6 week negative isn't going to change.

Are you talking to me or to that other poster? Who is NOT at risk for HIV? Me or him? I had a man perform unprotected cunnilingus(oral sex on a female) on me> Am I at at risk for HIV?

Bartlyeby,
Hi, you said I'm NOT at risk for HIV by receiving unprotected cunnilingus(oral sex on a woman), so what does this site mean when they say that anyone who has had unprotected sex should be tested? Why don't I fall into that category? I am a bit confused, see here to understand what I mean:
this site says that you should be tested if you've had unprotected oral sex see here:
http://www.thebody.com/content/prev/art49442.html
Or am I missing something? others have told me that I am not at risk since saliva is NOT what transmits the virus. So, what's with the CDC and this site with that article saying test f u've had unprotected oral sex?
