Asymptomatic Stage Hiv
      #252390 - 10/07/10 10:23 AM

When a person is Hiv Positive experts say after ars a person will go into an asymptomatic phase. During this phase they say you will have no symptoms related to Hiv except possible swollen lymphnodes. My question is: when you have hiv and you already have generalized lymphopathy ever since ars when you get any type of infection like a sore in your mouth or a cold will you be more likely to have more lymphnodes swell up in the infected area and be really painful? Compared to a person who is not hiv positve and gets a cold they might not get painful lymphnodes. If anyone could give me any information about the asymptomatic stage that would be great.

Why bother to ask any questions? This has been going on for 14 months and you try to figure out your status in a round about way. PUT ON YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES AND GET THE FRIGGING TEST DONE. Nothing else is going to answer your question.

By the way how do you manage after 14 months to still con your husband into having only protected sex? Or do you?

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock....

I dont con my husband into having sex with me. He wants to more than I usually want to. We are using protection because I told him I dont wanna be on birth control so we use protection so I dont get pregnant. Like a month after I was exposed to this guy I told my husband what happened but he didnt think nothing of it really besides he was upset with me for a few days. I told him I hope I didnt catch a std from the guy. He doesnt know that I think I might have HIV. He does know about how I think my lymphnodes are swollen though. Anyway ever since I thought I might have HIV we have been using protection. However since I didnt think I had hiv until like a month after my exposure we were having unprotected sex then. Anyway, I dont wanna get tested right now. I like my life right now. I have my friends, my husband, my job, and if I test and find out Im positive I will lose everything. Sometimes I think to myself I rather live not knowing and be happier why im still not realy sick yet then I guess when it progresses I will die. From my exposure my odds are in my favor that I didnt get HIV. What really blows my mind though is I could have it if this guy did really rape me after I had passed out. The thing is and I think you already know this is my pants were on when i woke up. If a person rapes you in your sleep would they go through the trouble of taking your pants off and then putting them back on. I dunno? I know some people on here think that Idea is pretty far fecthed , but i wouldnt put it past some people in this world. Dr. franscino doesnt think I have HIV, but he thinks I should get tested since I passed out and dont really know exactly what happened. He also thinks Im one of the fluffernutters. I wish I could test and test negative so I could whoo hoo, but if I test and test positive then I will boo hoo : ( . I know a lot of people on here dont like me since I havnt done the test yet, but Im just to scared and stupid to take it still so I guess Im going to have to deal with this anxiety and guilt for some time longer until i decide to test. Until then Im going to try and keep my family and friends as safe as possible so if I am infected with HIV they will not contract it from me.

Nuthugger 24:

You are not living. You are existing. You are not happy. You are worried.

All the relationships you are discussing are important, but you are not being true to yourself nor to them. I am sure that when you are with them you enjoy the company for a short while before your mind returns to HIV/AIDS. I know how you feel. I have been in that situation too.

Please get tested! Surfing the Internet will not help. It can hurt more. You will eventually find what you area looking for, symptoms of HIV/AIDS that may or may not apply.

When I finally got tested, I made up my mind to accept the situation whether negative or positive. I just made plans to deal with it if I were positive. If I were negative, I promised to always protect myself but most of all, to educate others based on the information I have found in these last eleven months.

If you are positive, you are wasting time not knowing. If you are negative, you are wasting time too. Time you could have spent truly enjoying your life.

Hello Nuthugger24,

Could you post a like to your posting to Dr. Francisco so we may be able to read .

I to am in the same shoes as you. I feel I have HIV even after Dr.Francisco feels I should be OK. But my symptoms are very real and scary. I am now past the 3 month mark and will soon be testing, i am scared but I know its what I have to do.

My post to Dr. Franscino is titled Everything Pointing to HIV. There are a few of them. It should be under the Im positive Im positive section. I also had one titled something else but cant remember what it was. Dr. Franscino is really smart when it comes to HIV and Aids thats why I went to him for advice. Anyway Congrats for going to take the test. I havnt been able to do that yet dont know when I ever will. Right now all I have been experiencing is generalized swollen lymphnodes, leg pain, headaches, and irregular period. If my symptoms start looking more like HIV symptoms and become bad then thats probably when I will finally have to get a test so I can get on meds so I can get better. I hope your negative! What is your post to Dr. Franscino titled? I would like to read it. Thanks. Bye.
