If you guys can please help asses my situation, it would be much appreciated.
I only took 2 tests both were done the same day. 13 days post exposer I took a Rapid Antibody test, as well as a NAAT or DNA test.
The Rapid came back negative, which I knew would happend. NAAT took a week to get results. That also came back negative not just for HIV but a few other STDs as well.
I was told by the nurse who administered the test to only come back after 6 months?? I wanted to come back at 3 months but, She said I was at low risk and 6 months would be 99% rather than 3 months at 85%.
The thing that bothers me is my continued symptoms.
I use to be extreamly anxious, deppressed, and having all kinds of emotions run wild. Which I was told caused alot of my symptoms.
But now I can smile and feel better about myself after (negative NAAT test, DR.bobs negative analysis, constantly hearing from ppl I am negative based on my risk level)
Even in my upbeat mood I am still having symptoms?
I still have dry cough, white fuzzy tounge, back of tounge has strong visible white spots, throat feels itchy inside, 2 lymph glands under throat seem enlarged- and when you touch them they send pain sensations thru my neck. It feels as if my throat was closing up. I have extremly dry eyes, throat, and skin, skin on hands looks like its peeling, I had very bad IBS for a few weeks, it seems to have gotten a little better, but still there. My bowels keep changing, My genital area has become very moist, its like I sweat there more than normal and it stays that way. Even in my posteriour or rear by my anus it is also extra moist?? Even if I wipe it feels the same way???
I have lost 8 pounds in a matter of 3 weeks. I feel the weight has gone from my legs, buttox, arms, face?? everyone is telling me how skinny i look. I feel also my left leg is much skinnier than right leg? Sometimes I feel pain in certain parts of my body and think is this my muscles deteriorating from some undetected illness?? Could it be HIV??

Damn dude, it must be terrible to have HIV. I thought I was living with HIV, but after the recent posts by you and others that confirm their infection based only on symptoms and not on their test results, I realize that I am wrong and that I must be HIV negative.
I haven't had any of those symptoms in........ 14 years, certainly not a 'wet anus' and I'd love to lose 8 pounds...put me back down to a size 4.......I gained 20
when I quit smoking 5 years ago and just can't lose that last bit of weight. To find out that it's the SYMPTOMS that validate an infection with HIV, I'm thrilled to discover I don't have HIV!
I guess that postive antibody test and the follow up Western Blot meantsquat since I'm not sick and have never had any HIV related illnesses. I'll be more than happy to blow off those PCRs that showed a viral load from time to time over the years. Mustva been false postives since I DON'T HAVE ANY SYMPTOMS.
Praise the Lord! It's so good to know that medical and scientific tests mean nothing....and it's all about the symptoms.
Oh and the nurse is WRONG. A 3 month test is considered conclusive since it is 99% accurate. Matter of fact in the last few years people testing negative at 6 weeks are not testing postive at a later date. You also tested negative on the NAAT, which is the test used to protect our blood supply. It is designed to pick up early infection.
None of this is surprising since you had protected sex. Protected sex is not consider a risk for tranmission of HIV. What part of that haven't you been able to understand? Stop letting your fears and prejudices get in the way of science and common sense.

Your friend was a dick to you for hooking you up with a prostitute and not telling you she was a working a girl, but at the end of the day you had protected sex, therefore their was no risk for HIV. This being your first sexual experience even compounded the anxiety of you hooking up with a working girl.
middle to higher end prostitutes are often quite strict about condom use as they're trying to protect themselves from you.
Your best bet is to forget this experience ever happened and remember to ALWAYS use condoms, something I haven't done and you won't have to worry about HIV.
As strange as this is going to sound personally in april I wish I would have been smarter and picked up a prostitute(which I've never done) as like I said she wouldn't have asked to remove the condom and if the condom broke she would have made sure I put a fresh one on and not took it off!
No further testing is warranted. Have you told the people who ordered these tests that you had protected sex? If you have further worry about HIV and you can't move on despite a no risk it might be best you seek a psychologist or a psychiatrist.

Are you referring to me about the symptoms being used to diagnose in other posts? I can see how you might think that.
Yes my symptoms have been very severe at times, noticeable and strange so yes I am suspicious of HIV. At the same time I know it could be something else that caused my severe acute symptoms and the symptoms I'm still having.
I did go on about symptoms in my other thread but that was to only try to make others understand and maybe to some degree I was stating why I'm suspicious of HIV. Obviously you can't diagnose with symptoms but at the same time they shouldn't be ignored or discounted. I'm the only one who can experience my specific symptoms it's hard to convey them off the internet and for someone to really understand, especially when there are many symptom searchers. Which makes it almost like the boy who cried wolf with so many people going on about symptoms when people online are often symptom searchers this makes it that people who are truly having strange legitimate (wether or not they're related to hiv)symptoms given less credit.
At this point in time it would seem extremely unlikely I have HIV but if you factor in my severe strange acute illness and the unexplained symptoms I'm still having it's certainly not impossible, hence why it's been recommended for me to get tested again in 2 months. Not to mention some of the innate health problems I have which could affect my antibody production specifically the IgG( the main antibody for viruses) level below the reference range(or a mild deficiency) which may be as rare as one case per 10000 persons. That's a 99.99% chance of having a IgG level within the reference range.
Yes my body should react to a chronic infection like HIV by producing more antibody's but that isn't always the case the production could still be blunted not allowing my body to produce enough antibody's to reach that all important ELISA cut-off number. In fact in some cases HIV has reversed immunoglobulin Deficiency's.

Yep you're one of them. You have a 17 week negative. It seems you don't bother with the rest of the whole immune suppession chain of events.
What cause the symptoms of ANY disease is the BODY'S DEFENSE. If a person's body is NOT mounting an effective fight against the invader then there are NO symptoms.
If a person experiences symptoms then the body is fighting off an infection and the body is PRODUCING ANTIBODIES.
When effective medications first came out it was discovered in people with Advance HIV infection as they took the medication and got better HIV-wise, they were getting sick with all sorts of stuff, MAC, CMV, Cancer, etc. The reason: Their immune system had been so surppress that the body didn't even try to mount any type of defense against disease. These diseases were able to take hold unchecked.
But when their immune system started to improve with treatment their bodies started mounting a defense once again against these different diseases and wadda know...they got sick, had symptoms. This is known as immune reconstitution syndrome.
Certainly with all those debilitating symptoms your body is mounting a huge defense against something. Seriously you also have more health problems than anyone I know with HIV, except for the unfortuate few that have died. The end is never pretty.
Now about this little bit of self rightous drivel....
"This took me a bit by surprise who in their right mind would consent to put themselves at risk like that. That almost sounds like a bug chaser to agree to unprotected sex with someone who's HIV positive ....."
Ah that would be you skippy.
Anytime you consent to having UNPROTECTED sex you place yourself at risk for HIV and all the other STD's. Unless you have tested together with a person there is NO WAY TO KNOW THEIR STATUS. 1/3 of people walking around with HIV have NO IDEA THAT ARE INFECTED WITH HIV. They sincerely think they are HIV negative or worse haven't bothered to think about it at all.
This is why all partners should be considered to have HIV and other STDs and protection used every time until such time as you test with your partner.
Your health is your responsibility, no one elses. You consented to unprotected sex, which means you accepted the risks that come with unprotected sex.

From your perspective I may be one of them but that's only your opinion my test results in the next upcoming months will tell the true story.
CVID is one of the reasons for delayed seroconversion past the 3 month window period. My IgG level was below the reference AKA a deficiency and my IgM was just barely above the reference range. I've been quite prone to oral cold sores since contracting the virus getting a lot more than i should coldsores a year and even having chronic bouts of them, despite working out, eating healthy foods and getting lots of rest. Futher showing proof I had a hard time dealing with even the herpes virus with my innate immune system. I would even have to take lysine pills with foods high in arginine(which is proviral) or else I'd very often get a cold sore the next day.
I agree on your point that symptoms are the bodies way of mounting a defense and hence the symptoms come about. At the same time that doesn't necessarily mean there are ENOUGH antibodies to reach that all important and controversial ELISA cut off value. If an ELISA was 100% specific to HIV any amount of antibodies would mean you have HIV but that's not how the tests work they are only around 99% specific therefore you need to reach a certain cut off value to test positive on the ELISA and then after that a Western blot is performed to confirm that you're HIV positive, as I'm sure you know.
I'm not saying If I contracted HIV I wouldn't be at fault at all I did take a risk having unprotected sex I would at least partially be at fault. What I'm saying is if my partner knew her X BF had HIV and she didn't get tested or she was knowingly exposed herself to someone she KNEW was HIV positive and then went about to meet other people online for sex that that is very wrong. This would basically constitute reckless transmission of HIV whether you could prove it or not.
Even the female who asked me to take the condom off if she knew she had HIV and she asked that how wrong is that? I was in the heat of the moment not thinking about HIV therefore my health and well being becomes her responsibility. But the thing is we life in selfish and cynical world people could often care less if they infect someone else or cause others harm.
Some people could actually suspect they have HIV for whatever reason and avoid getting tested and have unprotected sex with others obviously you couldn't prove it without a positive HIV test but at the same time if someone was spiteful, reckless and careless enough they could easily do something like this.
I recall of one case in Switzerland where someone was actually charged with reckless transmission of HIV without even having a positive HIV test beforehand. I'm unsure of the exact circumstances but it was deemed they should have been greatly suspicious of them having HIV for whatever reason therefore they were guilty of putting someone else's health and well being at risk.
When you're drunk you need to not get in a car and drive it's just like when you're HIV positive you can't let the another person have sex without a condom with you without first telling them your HIV status.
This may not be the best analogy but I think you get the point I'm trying to make.
Just about everything in life carries some risk, we live in a society where we can't just ignore other people's health and well being, to some degree we're all responsible for each other..
This law backs me up on my point it's considered aggravated sexual assault when you CONSENT to have unprotected sex with someone else who knows they have HIV. The law or rule is that the person is UNABLE TO CONSENT to unprotected sex unless the person who is HIV positive discloses their status.
It's sort of like my drunk driving analogy you ASSUME the other person is driving sober because it's unfair and wrong to knowingly put others at risk. I assumed they didn't have HIV because I knew I didn't have HIV.
I see your point and I will admit I was stupid not to use a condom but if they knew or greatly suspected they had HIV that doesn't in any way shape or form excuse them for knowingly putting others at risk and the possibility of causing serious permanent harm and damage. I had bad condom practices with my X GF and I got caught up in the heat of the moment not even thinking about HIV or else I would have not exposed myself.

" I was in the heat of the moment not thinking about HIV therefore my health and well being becomes her responsibility."
That's the biggest load of bullshit I've seen come across this board in ages.
You and YOU alone are responsible for your own health. I'm sure she wasn't holding a gun to your head when she asked you to take off the condom. You had a choice. YOU chose unwisely. The fault lies SOLEY with you. It's your body and was your decision. If you are so weak as to let the 'heat of the moment, cloud your judgement' that's your bad.
Quit whining about how you were taken advantage of and trying to put the blame on someone else.
YOU are responsible for your own health.....PERIOD.

Impossible , you make a great and sound argument for anyone who knows that they're hiv positive and have sex without revealing it . Currently the German pop star Nadja Benaissa is on trial for exposing one of her boyfriends to the Virus. She DID not tell any of her lovers she was positive or even make them or insist they use a condom even in a false lie to say she wanted to protect herself . Obviously a prosecutor and German Law agrees with your interpretation . The verdict is due on August 26, You are exactly right , if one knows or has suspicion that they are positive and allow a lover to not use protection , whether from lying or silence they bear the greater responsibility than a foolish or innocent lover . However in your circumstance these were on line like Craigslsit or dsting site with a profile for dating ....? I mean you HAVE to assume a quick to sex on line hook-up is a high % candidate for STD's . It seems neither one is on top of their sexual health , so I must tell you bro , I find myself in the rare position of agreeing with Esmerelda in just this narrow reply to your particular circumstance , but in the big picture you're on the money ! As an aside , there was an actual discussion on C.L. rant and rave in Boston not to long ago about giving a permanent tatoo to anyone Hiv positive . In some cultures this could happen if those positive don't come clean with their sttus to intimate partners. . .

Thank you for the response.
I'm just confused why would I have symptoms like this. Why am I loosing weight? For this all to happen along side me recent encounter did worry me.
I did mention I had bleeding gums and a cut on my tounge, right before encounter when i brushed my teeth. I then put my mouth on her breast. IF i got any milk, or even her blood from a cut maybe would that have been enough to cause HIV?
I am also parinod, because I quickly removed the condom and threw it away without even looking to see if there was any holes, rips or tears. I was just so aggitated of what i just did.

Thank you for assurance that you feel I am healty.
I just dont understand where my symptoms have came from or for what reason. There has to be a cause. And yes i know i tested negative on an Antibody test after 13 days exposure, that test is totally usless after 13 days. As im sure you know it takes atleast 4 weeks minimum for a body to create antibodys.
But the NAAT also came back negative, as it tested the DNA. What are the chances of a false-negative after 13 days? if any..
Honestly, I tell my self every day I am fine, there is nothing wrong. But these symptoms are makeing me wonder what the heck is going on, if not HIV. then what is my problem?

There was even one case in Canada I recall reading about where this woman took a man home from the club and they had protected sex the condom broke she then informed him she was HIV positive so he could get PEP. The guy turned out to be HIV negative but supposedly he went through so much trauma worrying about it they sentenced her to month or two in jail , although it ended up being changed to a year under house arrest.
Online can be pretty sketchy and risky but I don't think it's that much different than picking up someone in a club or something like that.
I've read how charges are fairly rare for one time encounters But at the same time one of these females I saw twice the one whom the condom broke with and I just took it off and had sex a few times afterwards. I saw her the next week and wasn't feeling well so I made sure I had a condom on well it just so happened that the condom broke again but this time I put a new one on right away. I didn't want to expose her to anything in case it was the one who asked to take the condom off who gave me something!
I was notified that this one had chlamydia aka the one who the condom broke with.
Yeah meeting someone online who agrees to sex beforehand would make them a high candidate for STD's although the incidence of HIV is fairly rare when all things are considered.
In my country only there are about one in 500-600 people that are HIV positive, and not to sound prejudice but I would think a large portion of those are homosexuals(or at least bisexual) IV drug users or prostitutes. In 2005 there were reported to be 1,782 male infections and only 120 of those are reported as heterosexual contact. Albeit 749 are under risk not reported but it would seem that a large portion of these would be MSM or IV drug users. That's 120 male heterosexual infections in one year for 35 million people. Assuming half the population are males that gives you the odds of contracting HIV for a male at a whopping 1/145833 per year. This isn't even factoring in the amount of sexual acts the average person has.
These stats are from 2005 but still. An esitmated 58,000 infected people I think this is accounting for the people who haven't been tested for 35 million people. This is where I got my one in 500-600 figure.
A policeman even told me he would investigate if I tested HIV positive.
It will be interesting to see that verdict. I have a feeling she'll get a few years in jail but you never known until the verdict comes in.
Getting caught up in the heat of the moment isn't that far fetched sex feels better without a condom. Not to mentioin when you understand how rare HIV is in my country especially for heterosexual males who aren't IV drug users. HIV didn't cross mind sure I was taking some risk for other STD's obviously HIV is an STD but it's very rare compared to the other ones.
I'm not trying to make HIV infected people look like criminals or increase any stigma. Most people with HIV are quite considerate and notify any partners their with about their status. But they're are truly some people who will look to infect people for whatever reason recklessly and even in some cases intentionally.
Check out the google video that was a spoof about the woman who looks to infect men out of revenge. Tons of people made re: videos about it how she's heartless and how she should be put in jail. Even the Detroit police took her in and made her get tested for HIV she ended up being negative but the sad thing is stuff like this actually happens in real life. Or even a HIV positive man who is good looking and with a nice car who picks up women at a club and brings them home and they don't worry about a condom and he wants to infect them.
My point was with the girl who the condom broke with her X BF moved home to be with his family something people sometimes do when they're sick. If she had anal sex with him and unprotected vaginal sex multiple times and she found out he was HIV positive just before he moved home and they broke up well she should have gotten tested and shouldn't have been making ads on the internet.

If that last scenario played out as you described , you are correct . i can tell you that all those various rampant deadly virus movies play out a scenario where the infected would be shunned or shot when signs of the virus became revealed . I so easily could have been Hiv positive . (Maybe still can...? ) It would have been completely my fault . Being here , and warning my Craigslist Locals(I'm from the state of MA where the Craigslsit Killer just commited suicide and our attorney general is trying to get adult ads banned from C.L. ) is some kind of way of giving assistance and compassion that many of the regulars have been burnt out of from abusive posters . I to will tire of this and move on , but for now here I am . Why not just post your question to Dr. Bob in the Hiv prevention forum ? He'll know if your condition can or cannot affect your great negative test results . Keep us informed , I'll do the same about that current German case . The bottom line is YES, if there is ANY chance any one of those girls knew or had a resonable suspicion to suspect that they may have been exposed they are at fault criminally and should do jail time if anyone gets infected or at least guilty finding on their record if no one got infected . But as I mentioned in my previous post , it is sooooo easy to see some 3rd. world country impose a "mark' of infection if these behaviors prove to be true and continue . BTW, are you from Canada, please tell about your often touted health care system ...?
