I took an HIv oraquick advance rapid test the other day and it was negative. I have a question about the test. The lab technician had me swab my gums with the stick provided, then I was instructed to place it in a small conatiner of fluid. However, when I went to place it in the cup i droped it and it hit the side of the container and the little holder that the cup sat in. i picked it up and put it in. and the lady performing the test didn't say anything or didn't seem to be concerned (but I think she was a volenteer) well, the test was negative. my QUESTION: is that a valid test or is it void because of "outside contamintaion"? I am a little worried that maybe i should find a different lab and retest? thanks for any help! Please respond. I am thinking that if there was any hiv on the test strip from my mouth it would have still shown up as positive correct?

The 'volunteer' probably didn't react because it wouldn't affect the test. You do realize they don't just pull those volunteers off the street, set 'em down and say "here, test". There are training programs provided so people perform the test properly.
But none of this matters cause you're gonna stress over the damn thing anyway. Just get another test, pick up another negative and be on your way.
