Less than 48 hours after performing oral sex (without ejaculation) on an HIV+ guy, I have developed a fever and swollen lymph nodes. I'm still in the 72-hour window for PEP but my understanding is that PEP is generally not recommended in this situation.
However I wonder if my fever/swollen lymph nodes are just a coincidence or signify an HIV exposure. Is it possible to have symptoms that quickly?

ARS occurs, if it occurs, between 2 and 4 weeks. However the symptoms of HIV are non-specific so it is never a wise idea to try to go by symptoms. According to the CDC the risk of transmission from giving a blowjob to someone HIV+ is 1 in 10,000.

Ars symptoms, if occur, will occur after weeks, not within days! BY THE WAY, you have not placed yourself at any risk for hiv by performing oral sex on a hiv pos. guy IF ALL of the following is thrue: - you did not get his semen fluids in your mouth (some precum is not worrysome.) - you did not have inflammation in your mouth or any serious leasions. - you did not sucked him hard and deeply into your throath (rude throatfucking.)
Feel better.
