Cuts and leisions
      #248771 - 12/13/09 12:57 AM

Hi to everyone,
I`ve recently had a single episode of unprotected vaginal intercourse with a 20 odd year old Chinese prostitute. Half of the intercourse was protected but the condom was discarded halfway through. A few hours after intercourse I noticed a small bruise on my foreskin and using a magnifying glass I also noticed a small red area in the middle of the bruise. I can`t tell you if the skin was or wasn`t broken but it looked red and I presume she had pinched my skin when putting the condom on. My question is this: does this "injury" to my foreskin count as an open sore and if so does it increase my chances of contracting HIV.
As you might guess I`m having to nowwait an agonising 3 months before going to my doc for a test.
I hope you can find the time to answer me.

Like living on the edge do you?

HIV enters a man's system via the urethra and the foreskin of the penis. Since it looked to be only a bruise it's doubtful that add to your risk of unprotected sex.

Most people that are infected with HIV will test positive by 6 weeks so if you test at 6 weeks and have a negative there is no reason to believe that will change by the 3 month mark. Testing at 6 weeks can relieve you of the anxiety that you are currently experiencing, but I hope you will remember the anxiety this situation is causing you and from now on keep things covered up.
