fingering..
      #24721 - 11/16/01 04:17 PM

Hi everybody,

I had a sexual intercouse with a sex trader.. I used condom and there was no problem with condom. but I fingered her vagina and I bite my nails.. there was no scars on my finger but I'm just uncertain about if there could be some unseen scars because after 4 days I had very hardly noticable canker sore like a dot and it recovered in several hours(I didn't brushed my teeth for 2 days..maybe that's why it popped-up).. then today (this is the 7th day) I noticed that my throat is dry and a little hurting because of that and I showed it to my mom (she's a doc) and she said my throath is reddish... here weather is 10`C and there's very low humidity.. I think I breathe so often because of extreme anxiety and it made my throath red..

I will have test next month...

you guys what do you think about my situation.. am I HIV+ or these things are because of stress?

(sorry for all grammar mistakes)

Test if it will make you feel better, but testing is not really needed in your situation. Fingering is not considered a way of transmission. Strange as it may sound it is ranked right up there with shaking hands or drinking out of the same glass as someone who is poz. It is considered casual contact and HIV is NOT transmitted through casual contact.

A canker sore and a reddish dry throat are not considered signs of ARS. Besides ARS occurs on average between 2-4 weeks. These things happened to you too soon.

Skin is a very effective barrier against HIV transmission. You say you bite your nails and are worried about unseen scars. For starters Scar Tissue would be considered intact skin. Scabed over cuts are considered intact skin for that matter. Unseen scars would certainly pose no threat. Nor would a larger scabed over cut. There has to be contact between infected fluids and your blood stream to have transmission. It didn't happen in your case. Also a misconception I see on this board is that sex workers are always infected. While they are in a high risk profession. They also are probably better informed on how to protect themselves and go for regular testing. Sex Workers do not mean infection.

As I said before test if you think it will help you put this behind you, but try not to lose any sleep over this. You just were not at a high enough risk to be worried about it.

J.

these two things reduces the risk so much..

What does her being "clean" have to do with anything?
So she washes herself, most people do. Did she "clean" herself in front of you? Did she use soap or some kind of shampoo or maybe a disinfectant (hmmm I wonder if there is something to that) what did she "clean" her vagina? the room? I don't get your point on being "clean".
OK the joke is over, You seem very naive about life let alone hiv so here are some facts for you.
1) you do not get infected through fingering.
2) A person who does not have hiv is not "CLEAN" as you put it but rather they are hiv negative nor for that matter is someone who has hiv "dirty" they are hiv positive.
Your ignorance is amazing and that with your mother being a Doctor. You want to play in the adult world and have sex then why don't you act like an adult and talk to your mother about sex or maybe a friend of hers that you can talk to in confidence if you are scared of your mom knowing.
Later,
MC

Stop lecturing people please. You are just making people worry and ashamed. If you want to make fun of people, here is not the place. Go away and leave us alone. We have enough to worry.
Jack, just ignore what he said.

I am sorry but I can't see what it is I said that would cause someone to worry nor did I make fun of anyone. As far as lecturing someone or making them feel ashamed I sure hope so.
I know more then my share of positive people now ( a few who also post here as well) and to consider someone who is negative as clean is an insult to them and all I did was point that out. while I do feel for all of you who are concerned about your well being my pointing out the ignorance of someone who may or may not have known better really should have no effect on anyone here other than the person I stated it to or to anyone else who did not realise that being "clean" and being "free" or "negative" of hiv are not the same thing.
Maybe joking about it wasn't the proper way of trying to explain it but it is better than what my other option was and as far as my advice to him goes it is very good advice.
