Hi. I can't find information regarding the Abbott-Determine test. I got tested 1 month and result is negative. I got tested again today (2nd month), will get the results tomorrow. Questions: Is this a rapid test, much like the oral test? How accurate is it at 1 month and 2 months? I plan to get tested with the ELISA test after 3 months post exposure. Possible exposure was on Feb 20.
I can't seem to shake the thought that I have hiv(unprotected vaginal insertion) because of these symptoms (muscle fatigue, oral thrush, feverish, gets tired easily)
Any information and feedback is appreciated.
Thank you very much.

You need to apply so logic to your situation. First the odds of transmission for unprotected vaginal sex when the women is known to be HIV+ is 5 in 10,000. Secondly, other than a POSSIBLE brief illness 2-4 weeks after exposure, people with HIV are ASYMPOTOMIC for years after they acquire HIV.
I don't understand why people use "symptoms" as a reason to believe they have HIV, when "symptoms" would not be present.

Thank you for your reply.
I tested negative at 9 weeks. They used, as i have stated, the abbott-determine test. I don't know what generation though.
Can I theoretically say I am in the clear?
I still worry too much.
Thanks.
