bit of fear - pl advise
      #245236 - 04/04/09 12:36 AM

Hi

Am relating this to the risk around needle use etc...

I went to a hospital in the US for a quick blood sugar test. The assistant used a blood sugar test kit that had an electronic meter. She then picked out a sort of a small blue plastic push button kind and pricked my finger with the same. In the testing anxiety i never noticed if she ever changed any needle or pricking device. Just want to clarify
1) Is there a risk in this kind of exposure - assuming she didnt change the needle at all?
2) Are these hospitals and devices not very particular and efficient, especially in the US?

just want to clarify - as I kind of didnt notice a change in device and it looked like a kit that may have been used for 1000s of people.

Please advise.

I guess you just think you are a real funny guy. However this forum is for people with serious questions about HIV transmission. Please respect that.
