HIV Window after having unprotected vaginal sex.
      #244351 - 02/05/09 01:38 PM

Hi Folks,

I hope I can explain my situation to be best of my abilities.
I dated a woman for 5 months. After 8 weeks of dating we got tested for HIV and STD's and everything came out negative. She told me that her last sexual encounter prior to our was with her ex-bf(unprotected vaginal)which was 10 weeks before we had sex for the first time which was back on Oct 30th, 2008. On Dec 15th, 2008 we had our last sexual encounter, again w/o protection (we only had 2 sexual encounters during the relationship)
On late December I asked her to get tested again and she refused because she feels that I don't trust her and eventually she broke up with me.
Five weeks after that I start having a bad cold with cough and runny nose, right now I don't have a cough or runny nose, but I do feel a slight pressure on my chest.
Since our last encounter was on December 15th, 2008 can I get tested in Feb 15th? or should I wait until March 15th?

Appreciate your responses.

Nelson

For your own peace of mind you should wait until the 12 week / 3 month point, so that would be around 15th March - but understand that a negative at that point will be conclusive.
