Communicable disease test for work? Is that legal?

I just have a quick question and I need all the opinions I can get, please.
Is it true that places like McDonalds, KFC, etc...make you get a communicable disease test in order to become a manager? I heard that you need to go to training and also get a communicable disease test to assure you can handle peoples food.
I don't understand why they would make managers do that and not just regular workers, so I'm not sure I believe it. Does anyone have any information on this? Any first-hand experience? It would help me a ton.
I've been trying to look it up online but I can't find anything about it Even if you don't know the answer, do you think that sounds plausible or do you think that would be overstepping their bounds?

A communicable disease would be something like TB. An infectious disease would be HIV.
Have you looked at the policy, or are you working from word of mouth about this policy. Get your hands on the written copy and then if it still doesn't seem legit. Call the Dept of Labor. They can be very helpful.

Thanks for replying, guys.
Someone I know insisted he had an HIV test through work, but I had a suspicious he was lying. I'm not sure whether or not to believe him, but your responses make me believe that he is.

Some states do require such things as tb test but not all do, it all depends on the state. For example, in Nevada if you work around food or children you must obtain not only the sherriffs card (which has different levels of clearance) but also a health card and they test you for tb and make you take health classes. but as stated before tb would be considered communicable not HIV
