Hi, I engaged in a risky exposure and have had followng tests: DNA/PCR negative at 4 weeks Antiboy negative at 4 weeks DNA/PCR negative at 8 weeks Antibody negative at 8 weeks Antibody negative at 12 weeks It has been around 4 1/2 months since exposure and I am getting ready to retest at 5 months, reason why is because I have been experiencing symptoms like white tongue, swollen lymph nodes in neck, low grade fevers, sinus infection at 4 months, on /and off diarrea, gastro problems like heartburn, gases, fatigue, loss of apetite, weight loss, you name it... Every symptom on the book. I am currently under anxiety medication to control my panic attacks and anxiety. My GP said not to worry about HIV since my 12 weeks resuts are very reassuring. Why do I continue to experience all these symptoms all the way to 41/2 months?? Is these ARS or I just went straight to AIDS after just one exposure.... Please give me honest opinion... Thanks in advance,

because you are insane like me (kidding no one is that bad LOL) you know they say anxiety can cause all these symptoms but there are hundreds of other diseases that could cause symptoms you describe why not look into some of them

So you want an honest opinion do you? OK. How about this. You are HIV negative.
In many places your 8 week test result would have been considered conclusive. In the US, except MA which is 6 weeks, a 12 week test is conclusive. You have not only had antibody tests, but DNA/PCR which looks for the actual virus and FOUND NONE. Please don't come back and say you doubt all those negative results. That just wouldn't be based on solid science.
I don't care if your exposure was a full needle of blood the is full of the HIV virus shot directly into your veins, you did not become infected from your exposure.
Your symptoms in terms of HIV mean nothing, and I tend to agree with Chris. Most sound like they may be caused by stress. Certainly none of those would point to HIV infection, much less AIDS....you must think AIDS is like having the sniffles.
You should check out your symptoms with your doctor to see what else is causing them 'cause it ain't HIV.
Too put it bluntly....it would be ironic if you continue to insist you have a disease that tests have proven you don't have, only to drop dead of something else because of your inability to admit you need to look at other causes of your symptoms.
If you continue to have problems accepting the fact you don't have HIV, I would suggest seeking mental health counseling.
HIV isn't an issue for you.

one honest opinion
single exposure. repeatedly tested negative past window periods uhmm....
you are being a nutty. get over it. HIV is not your problem.
whatever it is it is something else (and pst. anxiety gives you white tongue. I got it as well. And bad news. white tongue recovery is long after you stop worrying :P drink some plain yoghurt. it helps

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your answers.
I did go ahead and tested at both 5 month and 6 month mark for HIV 1/2, Hep B and C and all results were negative. I am having a difficult time shaking off the fear and I am seeing a therapist for that... In the meantime, I am still having stomach problems and has been diagnosed with IBS... By the way, my tongue is not looking as white as before, it is actually looking like a normal tongue now Could this ( The IBS) have been triggered by my cronic stress and anxiety over HIV???
Can I finally put this HIV issue to rest and move on???
I would greatly apprecciate your feedback and thank you in advance,
Regards, Kitten
