Hello everyone thanks for putting up with me. Its been 8 weeks since my risk and I'm more concerned then ever. I really do seem to have every symptom of ARS despite assurances risks were very slight to none existent.
That said, does anyone know about this test? They're offered via the web and said to be conclusive at just 28 days past exposure. I've also read elsewhere that they actually can detect the virus after just days. Because it looks for HIV DNA not the body's immune response which takes weeks to months. I took one at 16 days post incident, did I wast my $260? I used Private Lab MD. I understand there is a problem with false positives with the test does that mean a negative is reliable? Does anyone have any insight into this test? Thanks for any help, I'm really loosing my mind.

the only tests approved to give a conclusive result is a ELISA at three months anything else is a waste of money a PCR test can be false negative but it would be VERY rare it is much more likely to give a false pos i would say you are safe but you still need a three month ELISA to be sure

Sadman,
Rather than having a DNA test done, i would have simply opted for an antibody test. These tests are more reliable, cheap and often used for diagnostic purposes all over. An antibody test at 8 weeks, should have given you a valuable insight on your status.
Goodluck
