My tongue. Beg your help

Hi guys. I just found a picture at hivdent.org where there is a man with small red spots arround his tongue. I dont have the big red spot at the center of the tongue but do have more or less the same white tongue and the small red spots that cause the burning sensation I have.

Is it possible that I have this after 6 months of exposure??

HI Guess.......I have that too..without the big red thingy in the middle. If you look at the regular coated tongue it has little red things on it too. I think we have a BAD case of nerves which is giving us Severe dry mouth which in turn is making our tongues feel like crap! You tested Neg at 6months me at 2yrs...I think you should see a Dr....my next move is the dentist...Its only going to get worse the more we dwell on it.

LoL, Yes im the girl that gave you the BMS links...seems we both have the same frustrating symptom...so I try and keep a close eye out on you. Try chewing Dentyne Ice or something along that line of gum....it helps A LOT!!!!

Guess, please relax. I also went to that web site 2 months ago when I was (and still am) experiencing this kind of white/red tongue problems and that web site freaked me out. I have read somewhere on the net that stress can also cause that kind of problems.

Man, I'm I ever glad to read this discussion. My only remaining symptom is a dry mouth, white on the back of my tongue and an irritated throat. My throat feels like it is dry all the time and the problem goes away when I eat.
I also have read on the net that dry mouth is a symptom of stress.

Guess, what you need to share with us is WHY does this have to be HIV? What exactly did you do that was SO dangerous? Did you have unprotected intercourse (receptive anal) with an HIV+ person on several occasions? If not, then your risk isn't as high as you thought it was, and you need to try and move on. Do yourself a favor and look into this on a psychological level.

Wow that picture looks like my red thingys..except i have the coated tongue too......Im a smoker and coffee drinker...my tongue always had a white film on it...Thanks for the information :)

Coated tongue is quite normal. Some have more than others. Don't stick your tongue out too much. You are probrably stretching the tongue muscles and creating unneccessary stretching, hence the burning feeling. there isnt a cure, only time will 'cure' your HIV obsession and the glossodynia will fade with the obsession. Meanwhile, take less sugar. It will decrease the coated tongue.

Thanks a lot dear. I looked at the images of the link that you gave below. My tongue used to be pink as the ones of the pictures, now it's hairy white though. KNow stress cause a lot of symptoms and have learned that hiv doesn't show many symptoms at the begining so I'll try to relax and follow your precious advise. Man you know that the damn virus doesn't need prolonged exposure to infect and that u don't have to be homo to get infected. In fact viginal sex whith a woman menstruating is much more likely to result in infection than anal sex.
If a "large amount" of "injected" hiv fluid is needed in order to be infection then why do many women have been infected only by precum?
If the virus doesn't survive out of the body Why is it very dangerous to share razors or toothbrushes with hiv people?
Why isn't it recomended that women share sex toys?
If there is a chance of getting infected these ways then there is a real chance of getting infected by rubing your fingers against your penis after having touched viginal fluids when removing the condom, which in fact, was my case.
The girl had an std, or maybe I had caught it from a previous sex contact with another girl which as all doctors say increases the chance of hiv infection.
And after all this game of probability, I show symptoms of a viral infection, more related to hiv than to any other possible condition. What would you feel and think buddie?
So, my advise is that you be extremely careful with direct or indirect contact of your genitals whith your partner's fluids. Just wearing a condom during intercourse isn't enough.

You make an awful lot of assumptions Guess. I tend to agree with the other poster in that you are grasping at straws to convince yourself you are infected. Nobody knows how many women were infected by precum alone and I doubt you are the current authority on the subject also I have never seen a report that says women menstruating is a higher risk then anal sex. As far as not sharing hygenic devices or sex toys it is because you don't always know the last time someone may have used it so there may still be active hiv on it although there are no documented cases of transmission like this it is a theoretical possibilty.
And finally even if you did touch yourself after you touched a condom that may or may not have been in contact with someone who may or may not have had hiv and that there may or may not have been active hiv on it when you may or may not have touched it (hiv infected fluid) with your fingers but after all that you inserted it into your urethra, which would be the only access point on your penis unless you may or may not have had an open wound on it.
I mean if risk is assumed at 1 in 500 for actually having sex without a condom just what do you think your chances are?

If it has been 6 months, its not hiv.
Maybe its cancer. Whatever it is, can you move on and stop fishing for sympathy votes every now and then. What a way to live.
