Hello Everyone, I know I have had a negative test so I should be happy. But my Girlfriends recurring vaginal Thrush over the last 9 months has me in a state of panic. Add to that bouts of Diarrhoea, her Tongue looking the same as mine; White and very furry looking.
I cannot believe that all this is just coincidence!!
Should I retest? Is vaginal Thrush a problem that people without HIV infection have?
Any thoughts on this would be greatly welcomed!!

One thing's for sure. If your girlfriend has recurring vaginal thrush because of HIV, she didn't get it from you. Trust your test results.
Now, what does your girlfriend's doctor say? If these infections aren't clearing up properly administered over the counter medications such as Monistat, then she needs to find out why.
There are lots of causes for yeast infections.
What you need to do is take a deep breath and trust your results. What she needs to do is see her doctor.

thank you Esmerelda, I dont want to become one of these people constantly asking questions about symptoms!!
I abstained from having sex with her for over 7 months just in case I was infected, so to imagine that I was in fact positive would really be galling to say the least.
I will be going for a test again shortly, wish me luck if you can.

Sometimes the man can be a carrier of the thrush,so after she gets treated for it and has sex with you you can be giving it to her again even though you have no symptoms yourself.Ask your Dr to check you out.
