The following page provides the latest statistics from Dec 31st 1997, which I agree is a long time ago, but if you look at the breakdown by state, the breakdown by color, gender etc. it should help allay fears slightly that if you have symptoms and are HIV-1 negative, you should not immediately assume you have HIV-2.
I understand that there are many people who will shoot me down and say that in the last 4 years these numbers could have escalated greatly, however I am not here to argue, I am merely passing on information I have spent a long time searching for. Use it as you will, please don't respond with negative comments. I will not argue.
